Thursday Three

Mom has a confession (or three).

Confession #1) A squillion days ago, Karen Jo from Kitty Limericks gave me this great award. Because, as she puts it "I am always a good friend." But mom has been so busy running around with stuff, that she forgot all about it. (Great going, mom.)
This award is a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging and to seek the reasons why we all love blogging!
Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it. (Sorry Karen Jo, didn't happen.)
Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award. (Okay, yup, we got that covered.)
Answer the award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging. (Because I love to talk and everyone should share in the laughter that is my life.)
Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like. (But I like everyone, well, almost everyone. I don't like selfish, nasty or mean people. I hate puppy mill owners and people who leave their kitty or woofie on the side of the road because they don't want to deal with them.)
Don’t forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post. (Okay, that's easy. HEY, YOU'RE ALL NOTIFIED!

Confession #2) Now, when mom gets an award, she saves the photo and changes the name to who gave her the award. So this one would be pearl.jpg, because Pearl gave this to us.

But mom should add the DATE Pearl gave it to us, so that way she can check to see if she ever POSTED about it. Because mom can't remember if she did or not. Smooth move, mom! If we never said Thank you, Pearl, we're saying it now. Thank you, Pearl!

Confession #3) Mom has basically nothing to do all day since she is on vacation, yet she waits til 10:00 o'clock to do her blog. Mom, who is trying to go to bed early. PlusOne asked her why that was. Mom just looked at him. Sometimes that kid is too smart for his own good.

Have a great Thursday!

Wordy Wednesday

Yes, mom had a colonoscopy yesterday. A biological relative had colon cancer, so they had to test mom. She's fine. She is clean, and doesn't have to have another one for five years. Mom says thank goodness, because that stuff is sooooo gross it's not even funny.

Have a great day!

Working With The Snuggle Puggle

Our job with the Snuggle Puggle today was to do lots of this

and this

to keep mom focused on this

and this

and not to focus on this.

Because she couldn't eat anything since Sunday night but jello and water and the really gross and disgusting stuff they give you to empty you all out. Which worked, in case you were curious.

Another Hot One

I tell you, if I'd known that mom was gonna slack on her commenting now that she was on vacation, I would never have let her take one. I promise she'll be back to normal tomorrow, or I can guarantee you there'll be trouble.

I mean, she sort of had an excuse yesterday. It was so hot, she was getting a headache and was feeling really sort of yukky.

Until she realized that's how she feels in the heat of the summer. So she went down cellar (where it was like 20 degrees cooler) and started cleaning out stuff. And I do mean cleaning. She has two garbage bags full of stuff for the garbage men, plus a bunch of stuff that wouldn't fit in bags.

Lucky and I are not so silly as to complain about the heat. We sun bathed, relaxing as the warm sun baked our furs.

Meanwhile mom was feeling a lot better after a couple of hours cleaning in the cellar. Go figure!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Well, maybe. Not if yesterday was anything to go by.

While we were doing this...

and this...

mom was doing this.

It's her new garbage disposal. And yes, she installed it herself. The real hard part was getting the unit up to the collar and attaching it. Hard to do under a sink, on your back with it above your head. So mom got smart. She used her car jack, cranked it up, tightened the collar and viola! A working garbage disposal.

Sunny Saturday

This is how nice it is supposed to be today.

In the 80's.

Beach weather. But at home. That's okay with us.

This is what we want to do.

Fabulous Friday!!!

It's a Fabulous Friday because...

Chase gave me this award. Isn't he sweet? I think that I will show how Fabulous I am by sharing this with my sister Lucky.
It's supposed to be nice and warm and sunny today.
When mom comes home from work, and PlusOne comes home from school, they are on vacation for a week. Woo Hoo! What a Fabulous day!

Thursday Three Or Four

Or five or six.
What are you talking about? What toilet paper where?

Oh, that toilet paper.

I don't know how it got there. Honest.

The Bruins swept the Canadiens to advance. Woo Hoo. (If only I still cared about hockey, lol.)
Oh yeah, it's Mr. Karate's birthday today. Go wish him a Happy Birthday!

Working With The Snuggle Puggle

Lucky is working with Eduardo today.

Lucky is using her calming ability to soothe mom during mom's balancing of the checkbook. Isn't Lucky doing a good job. Mom thinks so. She got the checkbook all balanced and the desk cleaned off.

Monday, Monday

Poor Mom has to go back to work today. Too bad. Lucky and I will really miss her.

Can't you tell we're really missing her?

Yup, we're devastated she had to go back to work. Now be quiet so we can sleep. :)

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Yup, that's us. Easy like Sunday morning.

Sunny Day

We certainly enjoyed our sunshine yesterday. It is supposed to rain today. Drat. Well, we are sure the sun will come back soon. If it doesn't I will send my mom out after it. She'll bring it back.

Finally Friday

It's supposed to be nice today. I hope I have a chance to do lots of this. PlusOne passed his step exam, and now has an orange stripe on his belt. He is two stripes behind mom. Mr. Karate passed his exam, two more, and he will be a THIRD Degree black belt. Nobody better mess with my family, or they'll get it. hee hee

Thursday Three Or Four

video

I am going to answer some questions that you've been asking me over the last few days.

1) Did I get some lamb? Yes, I did. As you can see from the above video, mom let Lucky and me lick the crock pot. She also let us lick her bowl when she was done with her stew. It was delicious.

2) What did mom pass? Mom passed what is called a "step exam". It is basically a check that she is doing what she needs to do on her way to her next belt, in this case, her second degree black belt. By passing this step exam, mom gets to go into the candidate class on June 27th and start her intensive training for the second degree exam test.

3) Can I reach the counter? Well, actually, I can.... if mom leaves a chair anywhere near (three feet) the counter. I have climbed on the chair and jumped to the counter top. I just can't get down after.

4) Could I get the cover of the crock pot? Well, of course I can. If I can get the cover off the cookie jar, and it had one of those vacuum seals on it (and I didn't break it) then I could get the cover of the crock pot off.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

Memere gave mom some lamb chops. Mom had to cook them, but sort of forgot Thursday night. So there she was, at 11:00pm putting them into the crock pot. She filled the crock pot to the brim, turned it on low and went to bed.

Only to wake up at 2:00 am because I was scratching at the bedroom door. Mom didn't know what I wanted, but figured, to heck with it, and let me out. That's when she smelled the lamb, And BOY DID IT SMELL GOOD!

Eventually I came back to bed. Now, mom knew I couldn't reach the crock pot, so she wasn't worried, but she did have a hard time falling back to sleep with that delicious lamb smell permeating the house.

I went downstairs a half an hour later. And a half an hour after that, and a half an hour after that and so on and so on.

Dad wakes up at 4:00 am. He told mom I came downstairs every half hour on the dot, trying to see if I could reach the lamb.

I couldn't. Bummer!

Mom said she's never doing that again. Bummer!

Who'd A Thought

Memere planned an Easter Egg Hunt for us. Instead of candy, she put spare change in the eggs.

Memere was surprised that four adults and one child would be so competitive when it came to having an Easter Egg Hunt.

Memere hid 36 eggs. We found 33 of them. PlusOne found 8. Mom and Mr. Karate found 7 each. Dad found 6 and Auntie found 5.

Memere did not keep a diagram or list of where she hid all the eggs. I guess Memere will find them when she cleans her house. Of course, if there were chocolate in them, I would have found them all in no time flat.

Just like I found the ham and the mashed potatoes on the dishwasher.

Happy Easter

This is mom, Auntie and their brothers in 1969. Doesn't Auntie look groovy with that hair? And doesn't mom look angelic at 6-1/2 years old? Too bad she didn't stay that way! ha ha

Happy Easter Everyone!

Jill

Mom here. Jill died Thursday morning at 12:30 am. She would have needed more surgery and a colostomy bag for the rest of her life. She said no. She was at peace with her decision. She was taken off the respirator Wednesday. I am grateful that she did not linger. I like to think my son has a guardian angel in heaven now, but there is a hole in all of our hearts.

My mother has lost one of her best friends. I know she is not a consistent blogger, but your condolences to her would be much appreciated. You can find her here, at Studio Jeanne.

I will get back to visiting soon, but right now I need a little time and I have a very sad boy to comfort. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. I am sure they are the reason Jill was able to listen to all the words of love my mother spoke to her these last few days.

Thursday Three or Four

Mom is blah. She'll tell you about it tomorrow. For now, here is some artwork in our house.

Dad's sister gave this to mom. Mom really likes this.

Auntie (yes, Darling Millie's mom) painted this. Mom loved it and bought it. (Mom painted the walls, they are not this ugly any more.

Memere did this. Mom loves it too. She couldn't but it though. Rats.

Mom did buy this one, though. It hangs above the recliner.

Memere gave this to mom. Mom thinks it is great, with great colors. And of course, me, since I am in the photo, too.
