Tattle Tale Tuesday

Mom dropped a stalk of broccoli on the floor by accident Saturday and before you could say "Oops" I had scooped it up and was headed over to the bed with it.


Where I devoured it.

And destroyed it.


And made it all disappear. YUMMY!

Bad Hair Day

Mom couldn't resist these photos of PlusOne's bad hair day yesterday morning.

PlusOne decided to give mom a real look.


LOL!

The first quilt shop mom and auntie went to was closed. It's only open the first and third Sunday of the month. (Grrr.) The second one they went to has some really fun things, but fabric was on the floor, the place was very messy and it really put mom and auntie off going there again. It wasn't very big, but mom and Auntie have seen an even smaller store that was immaculate and there is no excuse for that. It makes you realize how important cleanliness and presentation is.

PlusOne & Visiting a New Quilt Shop

Mom thinks this photo of PlusOne is so very funny. It's sort of an "Oh, did you hear the news?" photo.

And of course the news is that PlusOne passed. He will get his Second Degree Black Belt on April 14th. On April 17th mom is SLEEPING IN! No more bringing PlusOne to karate for 8:15 am. Woo HOO!
In other news, mom and Auntie are going to check out a new quilt store today. We'll tell you whether or not is as nice as Auntie's current favorite, Quilted Threads.

The Verdict

First, Auntie is back. I didn't even have to mount a rescue mission this time. She came back all on her own. ha ha. Or maybe Monty sent her back, hoping Tucker would follow. I thought I was supposed to get some broccoli from Tucker. Bummer.


In other news, this morning is when Mom and PlusOne find out if he passed his last test for Second Degree Black Belt. Talk about stress. Mom will update as soon as she knows!

Finally Friday

Mom is glad it's Friday. She says the time change has really left her tired. So Lucky and I thought we would get some extra sleep for mom. Too bad we can't transfer it to her somehow. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to keep it. LOL.

Mom got an email from a very nice man at Dogster. This is what he said: "oh my gosh, I have such a soft heart for black pugs!!!!! Too precious!!!" (I'm precious, isn't that sweet? And the truth, of course.)

Tattle Tale Tuesday

Mom puts the laundry on the sofa so she can fold it while she is watching TV or talking to dad and PlusOne. I like to sit on nice warm laundry (who doesn't?)

After this photo, I got off the laundry pile then got back on it. The only problem was, I got caught in the purple sheet. Mom said I looked like a ghost trying to find a way out of it. Thank goodness the camera wasn't near her for that. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be to have a video of me stuck in a sheet?

Look Out Below

Or above, as the case may be. Mom is in the "it's in the way, I haven't used it, I'm not ever going to use it, throw it out" mood. So beware everybody. Who knows what she will throw out next.

Naw, I don't think she'd throw out Lucky.

I'm trying to be inconspicuous, so that mom doesn't throw me out.


Again, Lucky is totally unconcerned, certain in mom's love for her. Oh well, I really would be lonely without her.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom's going to try and relax today. PlusOne is sleeping as late as humanly possible, he's really tired after his test yesterday. Mom may investigate a new quilt store with Blondie. She cleaned her sewing room (back porch) so she is ready to move back into it with the advent of nice weather.

Last Test

Today is PlusOne's last test for his second degree black belt. Mom wants to see this smile when he is done, and passes. She is a basket case and isn't sure she will be able to stand the wait until she knows he passes. It's going to be a loooooong week.

Too Tired

Mom spent several hours helping PlusOne and his science partner work on their Earthquake and Volcanoes report. It is due Friday. We were smart, we took a nap.

Mom does not want to hear about earthquakes or volcanoes ever again!

My Silly Mother

Mom's friend Blondie visited yesterday. Mom was showing her the quilt she is working on for the sofa. My silly mother has so many pieces that Blondie told her to "start sewing them together, you have ENOUGH!" Mom dutifully started sewing the pieces together. I will show you some photos tomorrow.

I have forgiven mom for forgetting my birthday, but I am not so sure I will forgive dad for taking us out into the RAIN at least FOUR times yesterday. It was COLD and WET and I didn't LIKE IT. Thank goodness mom likes to snuggle under blankets when she reads or watches TV. Otherwise I would have frozen to death.

I Am Distraught

Not because I didn't get my broccoli, because I did. Not because I didn't get a couple extra treats, because I did, but because it was SNOWING, slushing, raining, sleeting out last night, with bad weather to continue into today. I am staying in bed. See you when spring is REALLY here!

Lots Of Broccoli

I heard mom telling dad that he had to buy "lots of broccoli" when he goes to the grocery store today. I'm thinking I am going to get most of it. At least, I BETTER get most of it. I will keep you posted. In the meantime, I have to go to Oklahoma to spring a prisoner.

My Terrible Mother

My terrible mother forgot that yesterday was my BIRTHDAY! My terrible mother also forgot HOW OLD I WAS. (I am five.) She had to look at the vet bill to see what year I was born. Can you believe that? And I didn't get ANY special treats. Can you believe THAT? I think I will have to get on the counter and eat all the bread.

Thursday Two

Two neat things happened to the family yesterday. First, PlusOne received a letter from the MAYOR congratulating him on making the Principal's List; telling him it was a remarkable achievement that he was sure came from hard work and dedication to his academics. He said that he looked forward to PlusOne keeping up the good work.

Now, our family has a history with this man, and no one in the family likes him. Their opinion of him is that he is a horse's rear end. But I got to tell you, mom was impressed by this. Dad has also said that he really is trying to address the problems the city has, so this has raised their opinions of him quite a bit.

The second things is that dad joined the "I Love My Dog" on Facebook. He posted this photo of Lucky and me.


Yesterday we were picked as the "Pet(s) of the Day. Apparently the owner of the page has a one year old black pug named Max. Yesterday was his birthday, and he chose us for Pet(s) of the day. Is that cool or what?

Tattle Tale Tuesday

Mom's been reading. A lot. So we are being ignored. Big time. But since it's been sunny, we don't mind so much. But still.

Anne Bishop is one of mom's favorite authors. Her new book Shalador's Lady came out last week and mom threw herself into it.

Then, when mom had a question, she went back and re-read the last three books. She even got Mr. Karate to start reading the first one. When she asked if he liked it, he grunted and told her he was on page 22. Mom thinks the grunts mean "don't bother me, I'm reading."

At least I can sit on mom's lap when she reads, which is good, because like I said, she's reading A LOT!

Back To Work Monday

Mom has to go back to work today. Lucky and I have to guard the house. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Sunny Days Are Here Again

It was a beautiful day here yesterday. We sat outside while mom fixed the gate latch. It was nice outside, really warm, 55 degrees.

Today everyone is coming over to have Boston Creme Pie and ice cream for PlusOne's birthday. I wonder if we'll get any? I bet we won't. Life is so unfair.

Sunny Saturday

When mom came home from work yesterday, the front door was open. It was 49 degrees and sunny.

It is supposed to be nice today as well. Mom is really looking forward to it. So are we.

Thankful Friday

Mom and PlusOne want to thank everyone for PlusOne's birthday wishes. PlusOne had fun reading all the comments here and at Millie's blog. He's not sure about being called "the teen". What do you think?

Thursday Three
