Too Humid To Move

Thank goodness PlusOne is home and we can relax in air conditioned comfort. Yesterday was 94 and at least 74% humidity. Hope you don't mind us if we just chill.

Yesterday. To give you an example of how tall they are, they come up to mom's waist. Mom is 5'4" tall.

Getting Along

Missy is doing well. She's not a real big eater, but she is eating. She only whines when she wants some of PlusOne's food, which mom says she is not getting. After having a little spare ribs last week, she promptly removed it from her system and it wasn't pretty. Hamburg, rice and carrots for her. (I did get some carrots, too, so that made me happy.)

Life Is So Unfair

Yesterday was Take Your Dog To Work Day, but did mom take me to work? NO! She didn't take Lucky, either though. We had to stay home with PlusOne in air conditioned comfort instead of basking in the attention everyone at mom's work would have given us. Sigh. Life is so unfair.

Hot & Humid

You know it's hot when after a while you DON'T want to sit in the sun. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

Thursday Three Potpourri

Missy is doing a little better. She got all excited yesterday and barfed up, but was happy to see mom and dad when they came home. Usually she ignores mom. PlusOne is being a very diligent guardian. I think he should lighten up. He fed her SPARE RIBS Tuesday night. Did I get any? Huh? Huh? NO! I did NOT. I think I should have got some before she did. I guess that's what you do for love.

Mom is looking forward to no parties of any kind this weekend. She would like to have a little more relaxing weekend than the last two. Here's hoping.

Wordy Wednesday

So far Missy is doing well. She's not eating a ton, but she is eating. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts.

House Guest

Memere and Pepere are on vacation for the next two weeks and that means Missy, Memere's woofie, is staying with us. I am not really thrilled about this. PlusOne is happy and Lucky hasn't said one way or the other. (Until Missy takes her spot on PlusOne's bed. Then we'll see.)

The only problem is that Missy hasn't been eating and Memere is really, really, REALLY worried about her. Memere even thought of cancelling her vacation, but she couldn't. Could you all say a little prayer so that Missy stays healthy for Memere and Pepere. We would really appreciate it. We don't want anything to happen to her, Memere and Pepere love her just as much as mom and dad and PlusOne love Lucky and me. Thank you.

Recital

Today is PlusOne and Mr. Karate's cello recital. As usual, mom will post a video tomorrow.

She and dad went to Gloucester, MA for a birthday party yesterday. Mom says the best part were the ribs (no, mom did not bring me any leftovers) and the fish. The birthday boy is a commercial fisherman, and one of his friends caught cod, haddock, sea bass, lobster and clams yesterday morning and then cooked it for everyone yesterday afternoon. Mom said it was absolutely DELICIOUS! but how would I know, as I got no leftovers of that either. Mom is no fun! I'm not sure she really loves me.

Enough About Me

I'm in enough trouble as it is. In an attempt to focus mom's attention on something other than me... raspberries anyone? They've started but mom thinks they won't really start "blooming" for another week. Then look out, it will be raspberry explosion time!

Here I am looking for the treat she threw to get me to keep still. It barely worked. Aren't the sunflowers big? And they are getting even BIGGER!

I Need A Lawyer

First off, there is NO photographic evidence whatsoever to support mom's claim that I climbed on the table and ate four M&M cookies.

Second, so what there is a spot where the cookies should have been. What about PlusOne, Dad, Mr. Karate?

Third, so there were crumbs and pieces of cookie left behind on the table. The above mentioned are all MEN and we all know men are not NEAT.

Fourth, I don't care what mom says, she does NOT have enough cookie left to show dental impressions that are remarkably canine. I mean, after all, I don't CHEW, I'm more ladylike. I GULP.

Fifth, so I am drinking lots of water, just like I did the last time I ate a dozen cookies, and so I am lying down and looking like my stomach is bothering me, like I did the last time I ate a dozen cookies. So I have a reputation for this sort of thing. It still doesn't prove a thing and it's all CIRCUMSTANTIAL evidence.

Anyone know a good lawyer?

Too Tired Tuesday

One More Week

PlusOne has one more week of school. His last day is this Friday. His science teacher gave them one last project to do, on one of the planets. It's a three person report and it's due Wednesday. Do you know how hard it is to get kids who don't care to work on a report? Mom was close to pulling her hair out. Luckily, it is almost all done, even though one child hasn't contributed a word. Mom just doesn't understand how some parents can not care what their child is doing, or how they are doing in school. She also can't understand how some kids just don't care about school. Mom is soooo happy that PlusOne is not that way. I am working overtime to keep mom sane until Friday. Wish me luck.

No Leftovers

Mom did not bring me ANY leftovers from the Ribfest. What do you think of that?

Saturday

Ninja One and Ninja Two are taking their second test today. Ninja Two passed her first test, but Ninja One had to reschedule hers due to circumstances that if mom has to repeat will make steam come out of her ears. Honestly, if mom ever meets the guy responsible for Ninja One missing the first test it won't be pretty and you'll all see it on TV. Mom will be the one in leg and handcuffs, surrounded by ten policemen with automatic weapons and freaked out expressions.

Mom has faith in both her Ninjas. And since Ninja One always gives me treats, I want her to pass as well.

Mom, Dad and PlusOne are going to the ribfest after. Do you think they'll bring me any leftovers? Me neither.

Memere is having her art opening tonight, but we're not invited. How unfair can you get? Sometimes being a pug just doesn't count for much. Even a cute, famous pug, like me.

Thursday Three

Mom is glad the weekend is coming, even though it is going to be a very busy one. A graduation, ribfest, ice cream party and a report on Mars.

Dad and PlusOne were tormenting mom last night playing McArthur Park, singing loudly, and badly. PlusOne was waving his hands in the air like a groupie at a concert with a lighter. (Mom was nice to you and did not subject you to one of the lamest songs ever!)

It has been chilly here lately. After a 90 degree Saturday, 60's and 70's is chilly. That's because mom put the air conditioners in the living room last weekend. Yup, you can blame her for the rain.

Tired Of Gardening Photos

Mom Is Loved

Mom's student, Ninja One, gave this to mom. She saw it in the store and thought it "was mom".

Mom thinks they're great, but she doesn't want to get them dirty. Silly mom. Ninja One also brought this for mom. She says the color reminds her of mom. It isn't really yellow or orange, but a really peachy orange that is very different and beautiful.

Mom still doesn't know quite what she did to deserve this love that she receives from Ninja One, but she also knows she wants to continue being deserving of it.

Good Mom

Mom was a good girl yesterday. She worked on the checkbook, weeded a little, (emphasis on a little) took class, and helped teach two classes. (We let her do as much karate as she wants, that way she doesn't get too cranky.)
She also played a bunch of Age Of Mythology, after she got smart and put the air conditioners in the living room. Lucky and I really liked that. Can you tell?

Wonder if mom will behave today as well.

More Gardening

This is a green bean! Mom planted a lot more outside and they have started sprouting. She is soooo happy!

And this is the garden mom has to weed.

She promises that this is the only thing she will do this weekend that will require her to "exert" herself. Lucky and I are planning on pinning her down all day Sunday, if necessary, to make her rest. This should be fun!
