Slightly Wordy Wednesday

Mom had to go back to work today, after being home for two days. I don't know why and I am NOT happy about it. Here is my stink eye to prove it.

Success

I successfully managed to keep mom pinned to the sofa yesterday. Of course, it's easy to win against someone who's diet has been saltines and ginger ale for the last four days. Today may prove to be a little more difficult, but I'm sure Dad and PlusOne will help. heh heh heh. Isn't backup great!

For All My Evilness

I am a fabulous defender of the mom (when she is sick) and an awesome nurse. She's feeling better, but I have to make certain she is ALL better before I let her up and at the world again.

Shhhh, Mom's Trying To Sleep

After 1 sleepless night, six hours in the E.R. checking for a) gallbladder; b) obstructed bowel or intestines or c) the G.I. flu with nasty painful intestinal bloating, mom has C. And I have to protect her from everything, including work.

Nurse Roxy

Mom came home from work yesterday at lunch. She had the Creepy Crawly Cruds, otherwise known as the stomach bug. So I gave up my devilish ways and slept next to her until she relocated to the sofa. I, of course, relocated as well.


The only time I left her side was when PlusOne fed us and took us out. Then it was right back to being Nurse Roxy. Being a nurse is a tough job, but I do it well because I love my mom and I don't like it when she's sick!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hug a loved one. It will make them happy. If course, in my mom's case, chocolate will work just as well.

Just Because Dad Says So

doesn't make it true. A friend of dad's nicknamed me "the Devil Dog" but just because she did, doesn't mean I am one.

Seriously, my being a "Devil Dog" has nothing to do with eating gingerbread houses, English Muffin Bread, bananas, Triscuits, pens, pencils, Wheat Thins, popcorn, granola or chicken. Nor does it have anything to do with shredding kleenex, toilet paper, notepaper or pillow corners. It also has nothing to do with my getting on all the tables, chairs, and desks in the house. Or getting through all the barricades, knocking over the garbage cans (and spreading the garbage around), rolling in the clean laundry or getting the clean laundry out of the laundry basket so I CAN roll around in it.

It's because I am long and skinny and dark colored, like a Drake's Devil Dog treat.

Don't ask about the white filling, I'm already out on quite a limb, here. lol

Sweet Sunday

Remember to act contrite after any bout of evil doing. And then go for sweet and innocent. It works every time.

Togetherness

It means joining your parents at the table, because you want to be near them. No other reason.
Seriously, you say? Seriously, I say.

Parents are big on togetherness. Or hadn't you noticed.

Keep Your Eye On The Goal

and don't be distracted by short term goals.

Like getting the treats out of the treat cabinet and getting the cover off the dog food. These things will tip your parents off to your evil intentions. Play it straight and be good. I know, I know, it's hard, but it will be worth it in the end.

Misdirection

If your parents are starting to get suspicious with your sudden energy and activities, misdirect them by pulling the toilet paper off the roll, out of the bathroom and into the dining room. Then, when you go back to sitting on chairs, they will think you are behaving and ignore you. lol

Intermission

Mom's latest lap robe is flying across the country as we speak.

Too bad PlusOne couldn't hold it straight, lol.

She thinks it looks pretty nice. One co-worker thought it was her birthday gift. Mom said "I DON'T THINK SO!" ha ha

Lesson Number Two

One way to keep the parents oblivious to your intentions, is to just start climbing on chairs and sitting there, like you own the place.

Here is a good example of that.

Next, we will add the climbing on chairs to the stretch to get something like this.

Remember, take it slow. It's best to keep the parents clueless about your intentions.

The Stretch

If you want to get on the counter or get food off the coffee table, first you have to perfect "the Stretch".
Here are some examples of a good stretch.

If you have never practiced this, you should start now.

And remember the face. It should be curious and harmless. heh heh Your parents will never know what hit them.

On The Run

Here I am, on the run. I going to hit the open road and see what adventure I can find. I've had several invitations to hideout, but no decisions have been made. All I know for sure is I'm heading south for the moment. And Wilma is south. From there, who knows. Indy, Chicago, down south where it is nice and warm! Maybe I will be The Pug on the Run! Anyone want to join me?

I'm In Trouble.... Again

Mom left a chair near the counter. Of course I used it to climb onto the counter, eat all the treats and any edible food that was within reach. I also tried to open the cabinets and eat the food in them. Dad is mad at me. REALLY mad at me. Anyone have a place I can hide out for a couple of days?

Need A Caption

What sort of caption would you post with this photo? I'm thinking something along the lines of "hold that broccoli a little bit higher, please, so I can swoop in and gulp it down". What do you think?

Truthful Thursday

Lucky here, to tell you the TRUTH about mom! I know that Roxy says mom is bad at keeping up with her comments, bad at posting on our Pug Group on Facebook, and leaves us alone a lot, but the truth is, mom loves us a whole lot.

Sure, she's been having trouble keeping up with commenting, maybe if she didn't have to pick up all the garbage that SOMEONE keeps spreading around when they knock over the garbage can, mom would have more time for other stuff.


Maybe if SOMEONE didn't keep getting into things she's not supposed to and then feeling yukky and clingy, mom would be free to sit at the computer and comment more.


Maybe mom wouldn't need to go to karate so much if SOMEONE didn't climb on the counter and break the other, new cookie jar, or climb on the table, the desk and knock everything off both. Or if SOMEONE didn't get through the barricade, destroy the box of crackers, knock the bananas over, try to eat the apples and the kiwis and then get sick all over the kitchen floor, (making mom clean it up when she gets home), mom WOULDN'T be stressed and need to HIT things, (hence the karate).

Maybe if SOMEONE was more peaceful and not such a DEVIL DOG mom would want to spend more TIME with her. As for me, I'm not complaining. I know I have a good thing going and I am not about to spoil it. Nosirree, not me! ~Lucky
