Another Day In The Garden

Or rather, late afternoon, because it was so HOT HOT HOT here today. NOT that I am complaining, mind you. But mom went outside at 1:00 pm and after 20 minutes she was soaking wet.

She decided to plant all her beans, peas and broccoli when the sun went behind the fence.

Which she did. She planted an INSANE amount of beans and peas and broccoli, but who cares, as long as it all grows. She has enough bean seeds to give memere and pepere and the neighbor. The above two photos are the purple and black raspberry plants that she just bought, all tucked in the ground. I can't wait for them to start blooming and for my strawberries to get a little more red.

Memorial Day And Gardening

Happy Memorial Day, everyone. Mom did a lot of work in the garden yesterday.

Here is one of the boysenberry plants that actually transplanted well.

And here are mom's prize deep purple bearded iris. Aren't they gorgeous!

Mom was staking all the berry bushes up.

And mom planted my strawberry plants. Look, there are strawberries that will be ready to pick soon. I am soooo excited. Mom was hot and tired. So she and PlusOne washed the car (and each other).

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Nice and easy, that's how I like my Sunday mornings. Lucky, too.

Oh My Stars And Garters

The Bruins are going to the Stanley Cup finals for the first time since 1990! Mom was a big hockey fan back when her two favorite players Ray Bourque

ans Cam Neely played.

But mom stopped watching after Ray Bourque went to Colorado to get his Stanley Cup. She was so afraid the Bruins would blow it (like the did in just a few games ago.) Now she is afraid to watch the Stanley Cup Finals. Silly mom. I wouldn't mind a little bit of that nice cool ice, I have to admit, but it's not raining so I am NOT complaining.

I'm Sorry

that some of you have no sun or nice weather. It was very sunny here yesterday. And hot. 88 degrees F. It got so hot I couldn't lie in the sun any more. Yeah, I know, poor me. I'm not complaining, mind you, I'm just really grateful that we are having some nice weather. If it keeps up through the weekend, mom is going to plant my broccoli and strawberries. Woo Hoo!

Look What Mom Bought ME!!!

Mom thought she would expand her berry bushes. So she bought a purple raspberry bush,

a black raspberry bush, (and a pretty peach iris)

another red raspberry bush and a golden raspberry bush.

She also got more green bean, broccoli and sunflower seeds. But the best thing mom bought are the THREE strawberry plants. And they are all for ME!

You heard me, these are all for me! Isn't mom great! (PS Don't tell PlusOne, he thinks these are for him! But they're MINE!)

Living In Hope

Lucky and I are living in hope...

Hope that mom or dad will "drop" some of that delicious, yummy waffle they are eating so Lucky and I can have some. There's not a chance that PlusOne will "drop" any. He's a human vacuum cleaner. But mom or dad, maybe. Then again, maybe not.

What Is That Thing?

You know, that big yellow thing in the sky? That thing we haven't seen for at east a week.

Oh, right, it's the sun. For a minute I thought the world was ending.

It's The End Of The World

And I feel fine....

Sorry, but mom just had to post this. She's evil that way.

Bad Dog

Mom actually created a new folder in the "Roxy" photo section called "Bad Dog". Can you believe it, me, a bad dog? I don't know where she gets the idea that I am a bad dog!

Seriously, I have no idea where she gets these totally inaccurate ideas about me.

Too Tired Thursday

We are so tired of the rain (we may have some sun today, that's a BIG may).

And mom is just plain tired.

She hasn't been sleeping well (or enough). Monday night she got about 5 hours of sleep interrupted by a migraine and being accidentally woken up (not me!!!). I'm going to let her get away with some boring posts for maybe one or two more days and then she better get with the program and spice this blog up!

Rainy And Cold

Phooey! Who said we should have rain until Sunday?

And it's cold (50 degrees), too. I know I've said this before, but wake me up when warm weather is here!

Grocery Shopping

No, I don't get to go and dad doesn't bring home free samples for me, either.

Hey mom, are you sure that goes there? And not in my mouth?

PlusOne, where are you going with those? Are you going to share?

Hey, don't laugh at me for sitting on the shopping bags, it's cold on the floor.

80's Night

Blondie came over last night to help mom work on a quilt. I allowed Blondie to sit on the sofa with me.

I even let her pet me (a lot). I have to admit, she liked giving me lots of attention.

Of course, a night of quilting had to involve music. 80's music to be precise. Mom has quite a selection; Culture Club, The Romantics, A Flock Of Seagulls, Prince, Yes, Duran Duran, The Go-Go's. Blondie was enjoying the music so much she put mom in charge of the music for her upcoming 50th birthday party. I didn't mind the music (or the dancing) because I got lots of attention. Did I say I got lots of attention already? It was nice. The attention, not the music or the dancing.

PlusOne's Night

This is a photo from PlusOne's school concert last night. Mom says he really gets into his music and playing. She says he is very "expressive." (She doesn't know WHERE he gets it from).
Tomorrow is the NHMEA (New Hampshire Music Education Association) Music Festival. It is an all day practice followed by the concert, for students CHOSEN by their director from all over NH. PlusOne was the only cellist chosen from his school.

Mom's awfully proud of him (and really annoyed that it took Blogger 12 HOURS to get whatever it is fixed, and it looks like they lost Thursday's post. sigh! Oh well, have a great day.)

Thankful Thursday

Mom is thankful that I am feeling better, acting like my normal (bad) self, trying to get into trouble (but, unfortunately, not succeeding). So mom doesn't really want to complain, but would it be too much to ask for a little sunshine? There are reports going around that it is going to rain from tomorrow til the end of next week. YUK!

Wordless Wednesday

Tattle Tale Tuesday

This is a flashback Tattle Tale.

When PlusOne was a youngster, he went to daycare. One afternoon, when dad went to pick up PlusOne, the headmistress called dad into her office. It turns out they served tapioca pudding for lunch that day. PlusOne not wanting to eat it, stood up on the bench (in the cafeteria) and yelled out "My dad says that tapioca is made out of fish eyes and I'M NOT EATING IT!" (none of the other kids at their pudding that day.)

(Dad had told PlusOne that because that's what his grandpa had told him, and dad thought that was really cool.)

The headmistress told dad that he had to find out what tapioca was made out of (the seeds of the yucca plant) and correct PlusOne's misconception. IMMEDIATELY.

The Right Idea

Doesn't this brand new polar bear cub have the right idea? I think so.

Goodbye, Hello!

Goodbye 1991 washer, large capacity.

Goodbye 1997 dryer.

Hello 5.0 Cubic Whatever Space Age Washer with flashing lights and R2-D2 like noises.

And enough options that mom has to actually read a manual to know how to do a load of wash, rotflmao.
Hello just as big Space Age dryer with Theatre Lights (they dim and go out after a minute or so)

and more options than you can shake a stick at.

Mom's so excited about these that she is grabbing everything she can just to wash it. Lucky and I are hiding. We'll be back when it's safe.
