Another Friend Has Gone To The Bridge

First Stubby, one of the most kindest, sweetest gentleman pugs ever,

and now Emmitt, the other, sweetest, kindest, gentlest gentleman pug

has gone to the Bridge. Our hearts are sad, and mom is crying, remembering their lives and the lives of the pugs who came before,

Bridget

and Muffie. But mom knows, despite the tears, that Bridget has got them safely in hand and is showing them the best sun spots in Heaven, who hands out the best treats and who gives the best belly rubs. Mom knows that Muffie and Bridget will keep them occupied until the day that we can all be together again, singing Elvis songs, climbing on tables or just plain lying in sun spots.

Just What We Need

More SNOW. Can you hear me screaming now? I left nice sunny Florida WHY???? Oh yeah, mom. Pffft. I'd rather have the sun and warmth. And the beach.

Spring Is When?

Not soon enough for me. We had big, wet heavy snow yesterday. And mom made us go out in it. It's amazing how fast you can do your business when it's that unpleasant out. Why can't mom live someplace warmer?

A Day Off

Mom's gonna play with fabrics

Lucky's gonna snore

And I'm going to bask in the sun, if there is some.

We're supposed to have bead weather, snow, sleet, rain, wintery mix, yucky, nasty, perfect for staying indoors and snoozing.

Thankful Thursday

I am shocked, stunned and THANKFUL that Sammy got us home in one piece. I won't tell you how fast he was driving. Suffice to say that he thought he was still on the track at Daytona!

And while I am happy to be back with mom, it's still really COLD here but the sun did warm me nicely, until it was time for bed (when I could climb under the blankets with mom and dad).

Day Off

You know how there's always one person in the workplace that people go to when things don't work, like the copy machine, the credit card machine, the internet, the phones, the toilet is overflowing, etc, etc. Well at mom's work, mom is that person. So when mom takes a day off and doesn't get one SINGLE phone call (from the woman she's training or her co-worker who does her job when mom's not there) it's a little weird. Nice, but weird.

Anyway, mom enjoyed her day off and was busy working on a lap robe for a customer. What do you think?

On Our Way Home

To THIS!

I must be insane to leave this nice sunny beach for below freezing weather. But Lucky wants her boy and I can't imagine mom doing well without me, so we are on our way home. We will drop everyone off (I may even let Sammy drive) and then I will be cuddling with my mom and dad and Lucky will be in her boy's arms again.

All I can say is that mom better have the heat on HIGH!

Meanwhile Back At The Ranch

PlusOne got a snack.

It should keep him satisfied for about an hour or two

And mom finished the lap robe for her co-worker's mom.

She likes it very much and it kept her toasty warm, which is exactly what mom wanted.

We have to head for home soon, school vacation is coming and Lucky wants to be cuddle with her boy. As for me, I'd prefer to stay on the nice warm beach, but I think mom might be lonely without me.

Justified

Mom and dad are psyched that Justified is back. Mom thinks this ad is awesome.

Fabulous Friday

Regretfully, we are going to have to start thinking about leaving this lovely warm beach, but for now, we are staying right here. That's why it's fabulous.

Thinking Thursday

We are thinking that we don't want to go home. What do you think? Would you want to leave this for this?

I didn't think so.

This Is The Life!

I don't think Lucky wants to leave, either. hahahhaha

To The Beach!!

While Sammy continues to amuse himself by driving really, really fast around a big oval, the rest of us are heading further south for the warmest beach we can find.

Warm sand and sun, here we come!

Daytona!!!

We've arrived (safely) in Daytona and are currently warming ourselves in the 61 degree weather while Sammy gets in some practice time for the Daytona 500.

Here is the pack he has to beat, but let me tell you, I have the utmost faith in Sammy. That, and I've driven with him. And SURVIVED!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, PlusOne had a sleepover with a friend who DID NOT KNOW what "Yes, your Blueness!" came from, so mom, dad and PlusOne had to do some "educating".

Sheesh, kids these days, they don't know anything!

On Our Way To Daytona

Well, the weather in Tallahassee is CERTAINLY better than Jackson. 59 degrees and sunny. Still not warm by any stretch, but it is certainly warmer than any place we've been lately. Silly me, we should have been listening to Johnny Cash singing Jackson!

There aren't any notable songs (i.e. songs that dad would know) about Tallahassee, so we won't be singing. We can always keep singing Johnny Cash, but I'm not sure how the rest of the crew would feel about that. Thank goodness Monty isn't here with his karaoke machine. Man, his singing(that's what he called it) was gawd awful, (you can't really call it singing, croaking was a better description.

Anyway, Daytona is our next stop. Sammy is so excited. He is going to drive in the Daytona 500 and he even has a pit crew of kittehs and doggies from around the blogosphere. I'm not so sure I want to be part of his pit crew. Maybe if there were broccoli involved. Anyway, see you in Daytona!

It's TOO Darn Cold For Mississippi

You know, I never thought Jackson, Mississippi would be THIS cold,

but sunny and 26 degrees F just doesn't cut it. At this rate, I just may LET Sammy drive, just to get us to warm (and I mean above 80 degrees) Florida.

It's a good thing our Road Trip machine is fully equipped with a great bar, a great heating system and
lots of broccoli! Yummy. Even though Wilma will NOT make me a broccoli Margarita, she and Brigitte know how to make a pug happy.

Texas! Is COLD!

With our stomachs happy with Emmitt's mini meat loaves and pasta meatballs, it's a good thing we have this...

because roads in Lubbock, Texas look like this!

And we've been warned to avoid the West Loop 289 because of icy road conditions and multiple accidents. I mean, we saw them, but since Brigitte and Wilma were keeping us well supplied with happy drinks, we didn't care, too much. lol

So now it's time to pick up Angus and our other Texas friends and skedaddle to southern Florida where it is a lot warmer and they have NO SNOW!

Sunshine, warm sand and beautiful ocean water, here we come!

Just For Angus

We're on our way, Angus!

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Slight Detour

We are making a slight detour to Colorado, to get mini meat loaves from Emmitt! Woo Hoo! After Sammy's maniacal driving, a good home cooked meal would be welcome. That and a slower driver or two. Thanks Miles and Lincoln!

Of course, Emmitt could make these pasta meatballs and I'd be happy but he said he wanted to make us mini meatloaves, so mini meatloaves it is.

After we do our visiting with Emmitt, it's down to Texas a quite a pickups, then, sunny warm southern Florida here we come!

In NH news, PlusOne was nominated and accepted into the NHMEA Middle School Festival for his cello playing. It is an all day affair topped of by a concert that night. The NHMEA's mission "is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all." PlusOne was the only cellist accepted from his school. It is a great honor and the whole family is immensely proud of him. He also brought home a really awesome report card the week before last, so he is doing very well. Now if only he could fold his laundry better. lol

Taking A Breather

We're taking a day off from driving, because while it's true Sammy got us to Cali-for-ni-a IN A DAY, it's also true that most of us didn't have any dramamine and we're all suffering from feeling a little green around the gills.

See, I'm not kidding when I say most of us are green around the edges. Look at Lucky!

Look at the worried expression on her face. I think maybe it's time for some ELSE to drive. I want to arrive at Angus' in ONE PIECE. Any volunteers?

Road Trip California

You would think that California would be sunny and warm, wouldn't you? But Benny & Lily said it was in the 4o's and they wanted to come to Florida with us.

I can't find Minnie Moo in the pile of pugs, but that could be because there is such a LARGE pile of pugs to look through. Or it could be because we let Sammy drive and we're all trying to stay in one place.

I thought I would give Angus a little preview of pug belleh, to warm him up for the road trip.

Hope you like it, Angus.

Sammy's Indy Saturday

Mickey and his family joined us in Rochester. He is probably my oldest blogger buddy. The road trip arrived at Salinger's to his mom's awesome Beef Stroganoff. It's a good thing she made a lot. Lilo was there waiting for us and a couple of surprises. There are around ten kittehs and I've lost track of how many pugs.

I made the mistake of telling Sammy that we were going to be in Indianapolis, home of the great Indy 500. Sammy insisted that he wanted to drive a few laps around the track. So I unloaded his race car from the back of the rig and away he went.

And away everyone else went!

I may have neglected to tell a couple of our newer Road Trippers that Sammy drives like a maniac. Not state of Maine-iac, I mean a literal maniac.

Luckily, my sister and I were prepared for this eventuality and we watched in pampered comfort as Sammy drove everyone crazy. Literally and figuratively.

We have to make a quick detour to Lexington, Kentucky to pick up Minnie Moo (and maybe Lincoln) and then it's off to the West coast to pick up Benny & Lily.

Back in New Hampshire mom is expecting 4"-8" of snow and ANOTHER big storm on Tuesday. Heh, by then we should be in FLorida, or close to it. Depending on what Angus wrassles up for us this time.

Road Trip Day 2

We're eating ham and eggs and French Toast at the Meezers this morning and then we're off to pick up Pearl and Daisy. Who knows WHAT they have planned for us.

I wonder if ham and eggs and French Toast are good for hangovers? I TOLD Wilma not to let Lucky near the Rum and Pina Coladas. My sister is such a LUSH!

ROAD TRIP!!!!

After TOO much of this
and this

and this (and yes, that is a six foot fence)

I want THIS!

First stop, pick up Wilma with the pina coladas and rum.

Then we go pick up Pearl & Daisy in Rochester, NY. (I also invited the Meezers they were on the last road trip we went on and they were a BALL.)

From there we will be going to Indiana to pick up Salinger, Lilo and anyone else in the Indy gang who wants to come along. I hope someone brings me broccoli.

Then we're going to pick up Benny & Lily. They are tired of the weather there and they want to have some fun. (I sure am glad this bus is BIG.)

Then we're going to Texas to pick up Angus. I know he's a cat, but he is a totally cool cat. He chases SQUIRRELS! He also loves pug bellehs! Then we pick up Laurie.

Then we are going to Florida. Home of the nice warm sun and sand And Coco and Frances Louise. We may keep going and end up in Key West and visit Walter and then again we may not. Who knows.

All I know is that I want to be WARM!!!!
