Happy Labor Day

So mom has been sitting in the breakfast nook a lot lately, so I have joined her, sitting in the sunbeam. After she took this photo she got the dog bed for me, because she didn't want me sleeping on the hard floor. Isn't she wonderful?

Well, I'll tell you, if she was so wonderful she would have stayed in bed where it was a LOT more comfy, but of course there was no sunbeam. sigh

I guess I can't have it both ways.

Memere Is Doing Well

Auntie brought Memere dinner last night (hospital food is not really all that appetizing) and what Memere didn't eat she put in the fridge for lunch today with Pepere. She is doing well, working hard at her physical therapy and listening to her doctors, but I think she needs one more thing to really feel better.

Annual First Day of School Photo

PlusOne started college Monday and Mom took the obligatory First Day of School Photo. For the last few years PlusOne was wearing a red so he totally had to wear a red shirt. Mom had to laugh. After four more years of this, he'll have his Masters and a teaching certificate. OMG when did he grow up?

Oh No

This is Memere. Mom's mother. She is 82. She fell down Sunday night and got a small fracture in her right hip. Mom got to work yesterday and Pepere called to tell her what happened. Memere needed surgery to put in two screws to keep her hip together. Since Memere has had three pulminary embolisms, surgery was complicated. Luckily, the doctor was good and Memere was out in 25 minutes. Now she just has to heal. Hopefully she'll be home by Sunday.
