Karate Excitement

Mr. Ed Parker created the system Mr. Karate, PlusOne and mom take. Mr. Wedlake was one of his students. The theme for the Kenpo Camp that mom went to this weekend was "My Three Sons". It would be the first time Mr. Wedlake would be on the mat with his three highest ranking students. They are all seventh degree black belts. A few years ago, mom was privileged to see two fourth degree black belts get promoted to fifth degree. In the kenpo world, that was amazing. Two, at the same time!

So you can imagine how absolutely amazing it was to see Mr. Wedlake promote his three highest ranking students to EIGHTH degree black belts.

Mr Ellis from England, Mr. White from NH and Mr. Lelliot from California. Everyone went scurrying for their cameras and flashes went off like paparazzi. Mr. Wedlake even gave Mr. White HIS eighth degree belt, saying "the Marines have a saying this is my gun, there are many like it, but this one is mine." Mr. White's students all basically went gaga! Afterwards, everyone wanted in on the photo shoot.

Here is Mr. Karate with THIRTY THREE degrees of Black Belt. Trust me when I say they can have you down on the ground before you even realized they've moved. And trust me when I say that when Mr. Ellis told mom she did something "well" she nearly jumped for joy. It made her day, it made her weekend, it made her month!

She hasn't even noticed that we're with Emmitt having a ball, eating meatloaf, cake and ice cream and marshmallows, and partying up a storm.
