The counselors all want him back next year. And PlusOne wants to go back. He was in the water swimming every day, he learned how to kayak (and loves it) and he loved archery.
He won two regular awards (Super Shark Swimming Award and Old School Archery Prowess award) (shark is the highest swimming group) and one of the big FIVE Spirit awards, The Head Award, for using his head. Head, Heart, Hand and Health are the four principles of 4-H. (Spirit is the fifth award.)
One of the counselors told mom that PlusOne was the smartest boy in the group, and that's why they gave him the award.When mom unpacked his bags, she found the soap - UNUSED! (no wonder he smelled when she picked him up) and several pair of clean underwear. Turns out he loved the new boxers mom bought him, he wore them every day. While he was in the shower, USING the soap and shampoo, Mom threw everything in the wash, so he couldn't possibly put on anything that wasn't truly clean.
Lucky slept well for the first time in a week! And we both got in some good cuddling time. We'll tell you more later. Mom's falling asleep. If she told you about her day yesterday, you'd all just think she was insane. Which she is, but still...

That is such a wonderful camp report! Now that everyone is back together- much needed rest will happen. What great awards! How proud he must be! And so good to know he wants to go back next year. Now,,, go cuddle some more!

We all think PlusOne would make a GREAT counselor himself! He is growing up fast before our very eyes. they do that - grow up fast. Our sonbeans are 23 & 25.

Well any boy who was raised by you and Lucky has to be smart, doesn't he? After all, you two are brilliant. I am glad that he is home so Lucky can sleep!

So glad PlusOne had a good time at camp. Mommy said she always enjoyed going to camp whe she was little. I'll bet Lucky is doing back flips now that PlusOne is home so she can get back to her normal sleep habits. And you have your cuddle buddy back while mommy is in the shower!!!

Using soap and changing underwear are far too much to ask when one is having adventures at camp. Tell your momma to wait until he's FOURTEEN and thinks that hygiene is optional all of the time. Eewwww ...
