Emergency Vet Visit

The last couple days I haven't been myself. No getting into the garbage (when mom didn't put the barricade up) no table dancing, not jumping in her lap as easily as I would have, and being very, very docile and quiet. Mom figured that as long as I was eating and my tail wagged when I saw her, that I was okay.

Today, that changed. I sat down and lifted my right paw, refusing to put weight on it. Then I whined. Not once, not twice, but three times. Mom was on the phone to the vet before you could say "what's wrong, Roxy?"

Off to the vet we went. They put me on the table and started feeling all over and I didn't struggle. And I was limped. Turns out, I strained my right shoulder and neck. The vet (not the one who loves, loves, loves me and who would have insisted that I go home with him for "observation") gave me a muscle shot and gave mom some medicine for me, which I have to take every twelve hours. Mom is also supposed to "discourage" me from jumping up and down (good luck with that, mom) and carry me up and down the stairs.

Other than that, I am okay, which is good, because I was worried mom was going to get a little hysterical about me not being well. She told me nothing could happen to me, because she would have a very hard time without me. Heck, I'm irreplaceable! She even told me so. I better lay low, I don't think mom needs any more excitement this week.
