Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things about mom and Auntie's day yesterday.

1) Mom and Auntie spent the day quilt shop hopping. (PlusOne, Mr. Karate and Pepere went skiing.)

2) Mom and Auntie visited four quilt shops.

3) The first one was okay, more of a teaching shop. The second one was nice but not great.

4) The third place was called Short Arm Cafe. It is in Tilton, NH. And it was a BALL! If you are ever in the area, you MUST go there. And EAT!

5) This is Bill. He's the cook. He made a "mulligitani" (??) chicken soup that Auntie said was to die for. (And we all know how great a cook Auntie is, so if she says someone else cooks well, you know they do!) He also made mom a ham and Swiss wrap that mom woofed down in no time flat. Mom said if the cafe was near her work she would be in trouble. Bill is also a musician and a photographer.

6) This is Steven. He runs the quilting side of the cafe. He is very funny. Mom and Auntie showed him their quilts and blogs and basically talked his ear off. (Imagine that.)

7) This is one of the cute bags that's for sale at the Short Arm Cafe. They had others, different sizes, shapes and colors. They were all very cool.

8) This is some of the artwork in the cafe. It is also an Internet cafe. It was just a fabulous place to be. Mom said she would be a regular if it was closer to her.

9) This is some of the fabric at the cafe. Mom and Auntie did a lot of squeeing. (I know, hard to believe, huh?)

10) This was mom's Christmas gift to Auntie. A day of quilt shop hopping.

11) Auntie drove.

12) Auntie paid for lunch.

13) Auntie bought all the fabric, and gave mom some. Check out mom's haul. (the last two rows, hee hee)

I think mom made out like a bandit, don't you?

Tomorrow I will tell you about the fourth quilt shop, PlusOne's ski adventure, and yes, Lucky did shift positions and nearly fell off the sofa. Mom caught her. Great save, mom!

Isn't it awesome to find a great new shop or restaurant? And both combined, you are lucky!

Sounds like your Mom and Auntie had a fabulous day. That last shop sounds amazing. Our servant would also be a regular if she lived close by.

We're glad your Mom caught Lucky in time. Our woman doesn't have such quick reflexes and sometimes Cinza falls off the condo whilst wriggling around in ecstasy (she LOVES to be brushed and gets carried away!).

Roxy,
mom would love that shop. She recently got a sewing machine and will learn how to use it once we are settled in the new house. Oh, there's an award for you on my blog!
