The Book Meme

Today was another beautiful (albeit slightly windy) day. And mom did a lot of relaxing, working on her quilt and some minor cleaning up. She didn't even go to class tonight! She will go tomorrow.

As you can see, Lucky and I really enjoy mom being home. We like lying in the sun.

Then of course Lucky has to sleep in her bed.

Or try to.
Mom decided to do the book meme. It has been running around the blogosphere and she hadn't done it yet, so here goes.

Here are the rules:

1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.

"Patrick knew, from talking to the shrinks who'd been assigned to work with the victims, that this was perfectly normal. Amnesia was one way for the mind to protect itself from reliving something that would otherwise break you apart. In a way, he wished he could be as lucky as Josie, that he could make what he'd seen vanish."

Nineteen Minutes, by Jodi Picoult

That does sound like an interesting book. Having Mom around all day must be great. So must all the nice sunspots you are having. Lucky looks cute trying to catch a nap in her bed.

Why do you look so sad in your bed?

My human has recently been devouring all of Jody Picoult's books!

That book sounds good. We would read it if we could read.

You and Lucky look like you're having a perfect puggie day.
