She looks so cute and innocent, here, doesn't she. Snuggled in her bed, sleeping in the sun? But my older sister is actually quite an adventuress. After dinner, PlusOne took us into the backyard. He went out and came back in by the gate. He didn't realize that the gate wasn't fully closed.
Lucky decided to explore. PlusOne noticed we weren't in the backyard and asked mom if she had us. Mom said no! PlusOne found me close to the house, in the bushes. When mom called, I came running. But Lucky was nowhere in sight. Mom called for dad and the hunt began.
Mom, dad and PlusOne went in three different directions. PlusOne told mom it had been maybe two or three minutes before he noticed we were gone. Mom figured it was more like five or ten.
Mom was just telling dad that when he saw Lucky in the neighbor's bushes. When she saw Dad, she walked over to him and sat down at his feet. Mom and PlusOne were very relieved.
To give you an idea of how far Lucky went, she was about sixty feet east, and about sixty feet north of the backyard.
Silly dog! Oh yeah, mom fixed the gate latch.

How scary! I'm glad that Lucky was found so soon and that the latch got fixed right away!
Aww Lucky! You're a natural adventuress! Try not to give your pawrents heart attacks though. :-)
Sniffs and licks,
Chase
that's scary! mom would cry like crazy, she's lucky that i don't do that because i know my limitations... but her dogs in Peru used to run away everytime someone opened the gate to take the car out. it was frustrating.
I'm glad you both came home safe and sound! Apparently that kind of advertures can be scary!

I'm glad that everyone is back home safe and sound!
Oh Lucky, don't ever do that again!
That's it. Give them a good scare and keep them alert. But don't wander too far. You don't want any heart attacks.
OMG!!! I am sooo glad to hear that Lucky made it home safe and sound!!! That must have been scary:(
XOXOXOXO

So scary! That's happened with Winston and few times and it always scares me to death.
How "Lucky" you found her....and lucky she doesn't have a nose like a Hound, could have been an all-nighter!
Our old dog used to escape from the garden all the time....he never got further that the chip shop though, used to sit at the door giving all the girls the sad eyes, like he'd never been fed before!
You always manage to drop by and leave us a nice comment, thank you. We are having trouble keeping up with all the blogs at the moment so sorry if we don't visit often :o(
That secretary of ours needs a kick up the bum!
Slobbers xx
I am so glad she got home safe and sound. My mommy is forever telling the littles to make sure the gate is shut - I can't resist walking out an open gate.
oh my goodness! i am so glad you girls didn't wander too far away! charlie used to do that, she would go blocks away and look for an open door or someone in their yard. she would just walk in and make herself at home. we put a tag onher collar and we always got called.
stay safe roxy and lucky!
hugs,
puglette
