Thursday Thirteen - Random Thoughts & Pictures

Hi there! Today's Thursday Thirteen is another bout of random thoughts and pictures. I will start off with one close to my heart.

1) Broccoli is good for you! Doctors are saying menbeans should eat it so they can cut their risk of cancer. Of course, the anti-broccoli people say they need more studies. But because I eat so much broccoli, I bet I will be healthy for a long time.

2) There was fierce voting on Which One Wednesday. Awake #5 won with 14 votes. Second place was awake #11, then awake #13 and asleep #5 tied for third. Of course, lots of you liked the photo that was already up. Thanks everyone for voting. It was a big help and I appreciate the time you took to vote.

3) Kimo and Sabi throw one heck of a Par-Tay. If you didn't go, then you missed out!

4) PlusOne goes to a day camp where they have all sorts of outdoor activities. Every week their is a field trip to a State Park, and every week there is a theme. This week's theme is Patriotic Day. PlusOne gets to go swimming, do arts & crafts, climb a climbing wall, do adventure, creative games, sports, drama and music, nature and food and nutrition. He comes home really, really tired. Mom says it's GREAT!

5) PlusOne plays with the boy next door a lot. He is a very nice boy, just a few years younger than PlusOne. This is what they built today.

Here is PlusOne and the new boy. We will have to come up with a name for him. He is wearing one of PlusOne's old shirts, since PlusOne has outgrown all sorts of clothes lately.

6) This is a lily that is trying to come out from behind the raspberry bushes. Mom will have to transplant it next year.

7) Look out, Sophia! This is mom's raspberry bush, loaded with raspberries!

8) This is all raspberry bush. And it is loaded with raspberries. Boy, are they good. PlusOne caught me eating some already.

9) We had a really big thunderstorm today. Mom did not like it. She did not like it because she had to drive on the SIDEWALK (thank goodness it was wide) by the arena because the street was FLOODED. There were two cars stuck in the water and cars were driving every which way to avoid the water. Even over the curb into the arena parking lot. Mom just got onto the sidewalk and kept going until she reached the outlet to the street. At the next intersection, she saw that the street ahead was flooded too, so she took a different way home. Mom says it WAS NOT FUN to see water splashing over the hood of her car. She has a Ford Focus.

10) This was the garden a few years ago.

11) This is the garden today. Auntie says mom has to pull up that wild geranium or it will take over everything. It's awfully green.

12) Mom does not have to work today. Yeah! PlusOne is still going to camp. It is his field trip day.

13) And Mr. Karate says riding your bike is no fun when the water is up to the hub of your wheel! Or when it is thundering and lightning all over the place.

That storm sounds very scary! Our mom refuses to ride her bike, or run outside, when there is thunder and lightning because it is so dangerous.

You have a very nice garden. Our humans both have black thumbs, so we only have grass in our tiny German garden.

How could there be any anti-broccoli peoples? I know it is good for me. But I do not like it. I wish I did!

We have salmonberries in our yard, which are not as tasty as raspberries.

Glad your mom was safe. My Mommy also dislikes driving in floods as well.

Ooo ... raspberries sound furry good.

Please tell PlusOne that Mom is furry jealous of his day camp activities. She never got to go to day camp.
