PlusOne walks home from school every day. It is .6 mile. It is not so bad, except that PlusOne has to carry his cello as well as his backpack. As you can see, his cello is rather large.
PlusOne has a friend who's mother drives him to and from school every day. She noticed PlusOne walking home and offered him a ride. Now, PlusOne gets a ride home from school on the days that he doesn't have the First Lego League (legos & robotics). It meets two days a week. Memere says that this mom is an angel. We shall call her GSM for Good Samaritan Mom and GSB for Good Samaritan Boy. Mom wanted to do something to thank GSM & GSB, so she decided to make them cookies.
King Arthur is sponsoring a Life Skills Bread Baking Program at PlusOne's school. They give you the ingredients and you make two loaves of bread with your mom or dad, then you bring in one loaf for the Homeless Shelter. Mom took a break from working on the back porch (a miracle in itself) and made M & M cookies for GSM & GSB and helped PlusOne make the bread. Here are the finished items.

Cookies?
That is a great gift for the GSM&B - how nice of them to offer that. It's good to know there are still people in the world who are just plain *NICE*. And isn't there something about baking bread....I dunno how to describe it, but it's so....amazing. Or something. I think your loaf looks great - and for the people at the shelter, it will be a small, wonderful miracle.
The bread looks awesome! I like that school. It is nice to learn and at the same time to be able to help the people in need.
Mmm....cookies....

Hi Roxy, thank you for your kind thoughts! I'm hoping in a day or two I will be ready to take on the world... or at least my apartment.
By the way, baking cookies for GSM & GSB was a lovely, thoughtful gesture. As much fun as it is to receive, it's even more fun to surprise someone. I bet they'll be smiling big time -- same with the people at the shelter. The bread looks yummy; nothing like homemade bread!!
Take care!
Yum! Those cookies look super good. And Mama is thinking about warm bread with lots of butter...
Please send cookies!
What a great way to say thanks to GSM and GSB. Our mom thinks the bread and cookies look so delicious. We prefer little cans of yummy goodness.
