Wordy Wednesday - A Really Happy Day

Mom got a call from the police. They had some items they wanted mom to identify. Could mom come down. Well, duh! So mom had to skip karate class and she and the boy went to see the police.

There was the boy's cello. And Mom's engagement ring, and the ring the boy gave her for Christmas a few years ago. There were the 5 sterling silver bracelets, 2 brass bracelets, earrings, a gold necklace, and almost all of the DVD's that were missing. One or three or six of the DVD's are missing. There was stuff that mom didn't even know was missing and there it was!

The police very kindly let the boy take the cello, but the rest of the items are evidence and may not be returned for six months. It's okay though, it's in a very safe place.

It all started because the thieves stole a little blue box from the boy that the boy put coins in, couldn't get it open and tossed it out of the car. Someone saw that and called in the "suspicious car" in the neighborhood with the license plate to the police. The blue box tied the car to our robbery and that is how they got caught. One is in custody, they are getting another one tonight and the third, tomorrow.
Mom's items were in FOUR different houses last night. That is how fast the items move.

Mom would like to thank everyone who gave her prayers and support. It was very much appreciated. Mom is really tired and totally emotioned out so she is going to bed, but after starting as a really rocky morning it has turned into a great night. Thanks all!

Oh Happy Day! That is such awesome news. My Woman was so ticked about the boy's cello and was going to start an Internet campaign to buy him a new one. She doesn't like sad children. It's weird that they're keeping your Mom's stuff so long. Woman had her stereo stolen once, and they returned it to her at the scene of the crime when they captured the thief. She laughed at him though, because the stereo had been broken for many months. Then again, so was her window now. Dang thieves!!

Hooray for stupid criminals and alert neighbors! I'm so glad you got some of the most important stuff back. How on earth did they have time to steal snowblowers? They must have been casing the neighborhood for several days.

Scrooges! They deserve nothing but coal—maybe not even that. Let them shiver this winter!

That's the best news I have heard all day! I am very proud of the person who called in to report the suspicious activity, and thank goodness those BAD people are off the streets. I hope they get what they deserve. I am also very angry that they would steal the box with the boy's money in it. How low can you get?

I am so glad you are able to get everything back and that they caught the people responsible for it. I hope they go to jail! Also glad the boy got the cello so he can practice. My mom had her car stolen once and it turned out that she went to school with the people who stole it and they planned for a while to do it. It is so violating. We can't imagine how it must feel to have someone go into your HOME and do it.

So glad it all worked out!

WOW! I think the odds of getting your stuff back from a robbery are like zilch, so that is awesome that you got your stuff back! And SO awesome of the police to give the boy his cello. That's so nice.
