Cookies, Prison Time, and Santa

Mom came home from work today and baked cookies for over two hours. Then she took almost all the cookies and went to the Karate Holiday Party. It was a pot luck and mom brought cookies. Everyone loved them and she came home with none.

While at the party, mom talked to one of the instructors. He is a third degree black belt. He is also a police officer. He may very well meet the men who broke into mom's house. He said that breaking into a house, occupied or not, is a felony, punishable by three and a half to seven years in prison. WOO HOOOOOO! They gonna be in the big house a looooong time!

The boy asked point blank if Santa was real today. Mom tried to dodge the issue, but he is 10-1/2 and he was beginning to have serious doubts. So mom did a dumb thing. She told him the truth.

Of course, being the smart boy that he is, he figured out that mom is also the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. It is 11:30 pm and he just went to bed after considering how his life was terrible now that he knew the truth about Santa. He told mom that he "forced" her to tell him, but mom says she should have known better. Sigh. Here is last year's picture with Santa.

Ah well. Off to the vet tomorrow. Hope all is well. I don't think mom needs any more stress.

You need to tell him not that there is NO Santa, but that Santa is in everybody.

love you,

Yeah, what Millie said.
Remind him that he can be 'Santa' too!

I agree. I think we figure out eventually that Santa is the spirit of giving in all of us! Anyway, mom isn't fully convinced there isn't a Santa out there who just retired and has tricked us into giving the kids stockings for him.

Hey Roxy! Nice to meet you. I have to read back a bit and find out what all this B & E business is about. It sounds pretty crazy!

I was very interested to hear about your liver enzymes. Mine were at 1825 yesterday, which had mom very worried. My vet said that at the height of my flare-up, they could easily have been as high as yours. We still don't know what's going on, but I'm feeling really good today.

My mom says she's going to keep on eye on your blog, to see how things are going with you. It sounds like we are pretty similar, except for the fact that I probably weigh about 4 times as much as you do. Mom says that means nothing. I don't know. I like little dogs way more than big ones. Always have. so I think it means a lot.

When ever I asked my mother about Santa all she would say is "Santa is the Spirit of Christmas" which of course is neither yes or no. Strangely enough, it satisfied me.
Ho Ho Ho to all off you! SSS's Mom

Tell the boy to watch "Miracle on 34th Street" it's a good movie about Santa Claus. Mom and us watched it the other night on TV, we liked it.

The spirit of Santa is real! Momma got presents from Santa (the labels said her name and the "from" part was left blank) until she moved out of her parents' house - at 25. She still gets a basket from the Easter Bunny every year - and she's 34! You're never too old.
(((hugs))) to your mom.

The "Santa Gambit" is furry complex. The Boy will be fine, but it's furry difficult to know when it's the right time ... He's had a difficult week.

Merry Christmouse! You two look furry cute (but sad) in your antlers. I just look angry in mine.
