The Magic Number and Wordy Wednesday

Mom talked to Dr. L. today. She found out why he wanted an ultrasound right away. Liver enzyme levels should be under 100. Mine was 3529! Dr. L. said that was a number he saw MAYBE once a year. Titus, of The Furry Kids said his was high at 1050! Mine was 3 times that number.

Dr. L. said that they were afraid I had Lymphoma, a tumor on the liver. I don't. There is a possibility that I have invasive (?) Lymphoma, which you can't see on an ultrasound, but Dr.L. doesn't think so, as I am behaving normally. (Which includes eating a bunch of American Cheese that dad did not put away tonight. But it wasn't only me, Lucky helped. Actually, the boy said it was Lucky who ate most of it, not me.)

So that is why Dr. L. wanted me to get seen RIGHT AWAY. He thinks maybe I have an infection (hepatitus) and it will go away because I am on antibiotics. They will check me again in two weeks and hopefully, I will be all better, or very much on my way.

Again, I am thankful for all my friends on the blogosphere, who are praying for me and sending me good thoughts. Mom apologizes for not reading blogs the past couple of days, but she is a little stressed. She is doing better now. She has been really cuddly with me.

Oh, and one more thing. I did not get put in the PTU (crate, Frances Louise) because mom does not want to do that to Lucky. (Lucky was in a four foot pen for the first four and a half months of her life.) Mom doesn't want to traumatize Lucky by caging her in again. So mom is going to figure out how to keep us in a smaller part of the kitchen.

Thank you for the updates. My parents and I are relieved that Roxy is doing better (AND isn't relegated to the PTU).

Now enjoy the holidays . . . I think Roxy is off to a fine start by sneaking some of that American cheese (one of the most delicious food on this planet, I must say)!

Good to hear that. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, Roxy.

Gosh, two weeks is going to be a long time to wait and worry! I hope the holiday whirl makes the time go by quickly. I feel very positive that your tests will be normal in two weeks!

The possibility that it could just be an infection is great news! Good thing you are all those cookies - LOL! I'm also glad you don't have to be crated. My people keep my in the bathroom with a baby gate in the doorway when they are gone. I cannot be trusted. Ha!

Whoa! Is it possible that they ran the test funny? When Mombean was pregnant with KidBean they thought he was going to have some big problems until a tech realized they had done the tests with the wrong date.

Still, wow! Stop with the worrying your Mom already!

Hi Roxy,
Hope everything is better by the time you are back at the vet in two weeks. I am keeping my paws crossed and thinking about you, ok?
Kisses to you, your mom and Lucky too.
Love Clover xo

Whew! What a relief to know you're still with us. No wonder your mom was so stressed. But we know you will be fine. After all, you have a good vet and a loving family. What else could a dog want? Okay, Buddy says FOOD!!!! But it doesn't sound like you're starving.

So, you keep getting better.

HOLLY COW!!!! that was a high. I think you need to stop eating cheese and stuff for while too so that if there is a problem with your liver it gets better!

Roxy, we're still purraying and purring and sending hugs for you guys. Please don't eat any more bad stuff. I know that it's all just so delicious, but even though it's delicious, it's not always good for our tummies. Some time I'll tell you about the box of raising bran I ate (PS - I don't recommend it).

As far as confining, are you guys climbers or jumpers? Our aunt got one of those huge baby gate fence things that can make all sorts of shapes and stretched it across her kitchen for our cousin dawg. Now she has her own space in the kitchen and can't get into any mischief.

Hugs to you guys and let's get those enzymes back to normal! That would be an awesome present for your mom.

oh Roxy, two weeks is a long time. We hadded to wait that long this summer when my bloods was bad and the v-et thought I hadded a fatal blood disorder. BUT, my bloods didn't change (which was the answer we was purraying for) and I am fine. So we has every confidence that your bloods will be better.

Does you have a baby gate? the big ones can be helpful to section off an area of a room.

Hiya Roxy! I saw your question on my Blog about the Liver Function results, hey, Roxy, you certainly have beaten my results!

I usually score between 240 - 260, I had a liver scan this year, but nothing abnormal was revealed. I have been on loads and loads of medication, to help improve it, but nothing has worked over the year. Now the insurance money has run out, so my Vet has decided he can buy a bigger car, and possibly a bigger house, go on a world cruise etc on the money he has made on prescribing my drugs!

No seriously, he decided I either have a naturally high liver function or else I may have had an infection a while back which damaged my liver.

The only thing Jeannie can think of is that I had a really bad reaction twice to some Worming Tablets which made me very sick, they were called Mirabelux or somesuch. It could have resulted in the raised liver function.

I do hope you get better soon, and the Antibiotics help somehow.

If you Ma or Pa wants to email me for any further info, my email is on my Blog under My Profile.

I would like to link with you if thats ok, but I will wait to see if you are cool with that!

I am back now from my op for my lumps, and feeling much better!

Love and licks, and Good Luck!
