Hot, Hot, HOT

Friday the temperature was 63 degrees. It rained. A lot. Saturday the temperature went up to the 90's. It was hot. So dad and PlusOne started the yard work early. Dad taught PlusOne how to use the weed whacker. That may, or may not, have been a good idea.

Here he is weed whacking by mom's garden. After that, dad taught him how to mow the lawn.

Here he is mowing the lawn. He will have to practice his style and form, but overall, he has the hang of it.

This is some pretty plant in mom's garden. She doesn't know what it is, she just knows that it has grown. A LOT! Mom also has tons of day lilies and iris and such. Some are ready to bloom, and some are not.

Here I am trying to deal with the heat. It wasn't even noon yet. Pretty soon, I headed inside where it was a LOT cooler.

This next picture is for Diva Kitty & Sophia. This is part of my mom's raspberry bush, up close. I can't wait for the raspberries to bloom. I love them. I even eat them off the bush. Mom is not happy about that. Dad is telling her to get a fence, to keep me out. How unfair!

Lastly, Blondie wants to say thank you to everyone who commented about her situation. She doesn't understand it either, but she is not going to fight it. She found a lady who has a cat and a boyfriend. Turns out the boyfriend is allergic to the cat. Blondie may get a cat. We hope she does.

PlusOne is really working hard. I hope he got a nice cold drink of something afterwards. Roxy, I agree that it would be terribly unfair for your Mom and Dad to put up a fence to keep you away from the raspberries.

We just read the letter that Blondie received. We have to say, it doesn't make any sense to us whatsoever. We are wondering if somehow the rescue had her confused with someone else, since it talks about 'lost' cats instead of one that went to the Bridge from old age. We are sorry to hear that she was treated this way by the Siamese Rescue (since we did recommend them). We feel bad now. But that letter she received seems very very odd to us, and not at all what we would expect from the Siamese Rescue!

Good job, PlusOne!

I hope Blondie does end up getting a cat. It would be very sad if the Siamese Rescue experience made her give up on the idea.

My day lilies are just about to bloom too - I just spotted their little buds this week and I'm so excited! Your mom will have to post more garden pics when everything is all colorful!

Yard work can be fun, I understand, but very tiring ... Best wishes to Blondie!

hi roxy!
your backyard and gardens are beautiful. plusone looks like he was having fun!
emmitt says garden fences are no fun. he used to go hunting for vegetables several times a day. now he stares at a 3 foot wooden fence. hmmmmf.

WOW!! 90 degrees IS hot!!! We did not have anything near that and we won't have all summer either! Environment Canada said we will have a "cooler than average" summer. That is OK with Mom,though, as she does not like heat :)
Mom also has lots of daylilies and iris. She likes the look of the leaves and they are so'darned easy to grow"!!
Plus One is doing great!! I know what he will be doing all summer ! Heeheehee

Good idea to put plus one to work in the yard. Were you helping to supervise? It is hot here too, looks like the summer is now here. Keep cool.
