Field Trip

When mom saw Auntie Thursday night, Auntie said she was feeling blue. Mom knew why. Everyone knows why. Friday rolled around, and mom took Friday afternoon off. She called Auntie. At work. "What are you doing? Can you leave work?"

Turns out, Auntie could, because Auntie had to work Saturday. "What do you have in mind?" Auntie said. Mom replied, "Oh, a trip to that quilt shop in Concord. Peggy Anne's." Auntie said "I haven't eaten lunch." Mom said "I'll have lunch ready for you."

Auntie came over, Mom fed her. (Mom did not have any lettuce, Auntie was NOT happy about that, but mom did give her a lemonade popsicle.) And off to Concord they went. Mom drove.

At the off ramp, they were stuck in traffic and then Aretha came on, singing Respect. Well, driving with mom means listening to music and dancing. So mom made Auntie dance in the car. People were looking at them, thinking they were really WEIRD! Mom thinks they are too tied up in stress to have fun. Auntie started to laugh. Mom smiled.

Here is some of the fabric mom bought at the quilt shop.

Mom bought this in pink and orange!

After they bought fabric, they walked up and down main street. They saw a really nice store (whose website isn't up yet) and then they had ice cream and truffles. After a little bit, they went home. Auntie got in the car and said "This is exactly what I needed."

Mom just smiled.

That was some really nice fabrics! And you're very right. The humans need to take time to have fun and relax or they won't do anything right! It's good they have us to remind them!

Kisses,
Bajas.

I love the fabrics you found. That was a great thing your Mom did for Auntie. Your Mom is right. We beans just get too uptight and need to relax and have fun, even if other people do think we are weird.

Mine mombean sez "Ice Cream will make anything better!". Oh, she was droolin' at the thought of truffles.

I'd rather have tuna.

Great fabrics, I can't wait to see what you make with them.

I like the blue fabric on top so much I put my foot down on the keyboard so the Woman couldn't scroll through. What a great way to spend a day when you need to be cheered up.

Roxy, your mommy and auntie have impeccable taste in shopping. Please tell them to call me (makes little telephone sign thingy by my ear) next time they go to that quilt shop. I would be needing to go there, too.
love, HOwie's mom
Howie wonders if you are planning to pee on any of that fabric.
