After it was made, her mom looked at her and said, well, my quilt is getting old. Would you make me one? Mom said sure, and went to work. Here are a few pictures of it. It is really big.
They have a king size bed and memere wanted it to hang over on the sides so that when the dogs climbed on top the sides wouldn't ride up.
Mom was feeling pretty good about this, so she made one for her brother in law for his wedding gift. That was a big hit.
She made one for her neice. Millie's mom gave her a strip of fabric to use. You can see it in the bottom of the picture, it has the blue and green and pink diamonds. Well, that was a big hit.

Then mom made one for the boy's friend, who was a girl.
Then memere said "Your quilt is great in the winter because it is heavy, but in the summer it is too heavy. Can you and your sister make me a quilt?" Well Mom and Millie's mom (who I hereby dub "Auntie") said "Sure!"
But they had to figure out how big to make it, what fabrics to use, and who would make what. Auntie, being Auntie, came up with the plan. "We'll each make 18" x 24" rectangles, we will checkerboard them, we will buy twelve fabrics that we both like and have to use and then anything we want to add after that is fine." Mom said "Okay! Let's go shopping."

Such beautiful quilts, Roxy. Our mom calls them "eye candy" because they are so nice to look at. We are enjoying the story about how they are made - looking forward to your next chapter.
