PlusOne's Instructions

PlusOne slept over Memere's last night. Before he left, he gave mom very specific instructions on taking care of Lucky.

"Hold her close in your arms and cocoon her under the blankets so she feels warm and safe."
Sheesh, glad he's so concerned about her. What about me? If mom does that to Lucky, where am I gonna be? Sisters!

Funny PlusOne

PlusOne was very funny today. Mom, dad and PlusOne were watching TV and there was an ad for a fabric softener that said "women have many sides to them." And PlusOne responded, "yeah, a back side and a front side." LOL

Grumpy

Mom was grumpy yesterday afternoon, so she posted this photo of her two favorite pugs.

It had something to do with one of her in-laws saying that if someone couldn't afford health insurance maybe they should give up cable. Another said that out of the 6 million people with no health insurance 1/3 could afford it, they just don't want it; 1/3 could get some type of government aid; and the last 1/3 are illegal aliens.

Mom loves the blogosphere because here we all CARE about each other and would help our fellow blogger if it were needed. Mom didn't see any evidence of that caring in the above two statements. We have problems in this country that need to be fixed and they won't get fixed unless everyone works TOGETHER. That's not happening, and it's making mom grumpy. And sad.

Happy Thanksgiving

Here's hoping everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving (or a great Thursday) with lots of family and fun.

And lots of dropped food.

TattleTale Tuesday

She looks oh so innocent, doesn't she? But today's tattle is about Little Miss Perfect.

Mom was eating a slice of Auntie's killer white bread when Lucky climbed on her lap, (stepping on my head) and tried to chomp the piece of toast as it was GOING INTO MOM'S MOUTH! That's right, Little Miss Perfect did something that even I don't do. I'll snatch a piece of food out of mom's hand, but out of mom's mouth? Who'd of thought Lucky was so aggressive?

Monday Tattletale

Because mom just couldn't wait until Tuesday.

This is dad as a 12 or 13 year old. PlusOne just can't get over the haircut. LOL!

Stick Saturday

Mom's, PlusOne's & Mr. Karate's stick bags, made by Auntie. One of mom's fellow teachers just fell in love with PlusOne's (mom thinks she'd like to buy it). Auntie found dragon fabric so she is going to make PlusOne a new bag.

Mom's been working on the lap robe for the sofa. Dad wants it at least seven feet long, so it can cover all three of them when they are watching tv. Not sure how wide it will be yet, but I'm guessing at least five feet.

Dad nearly came home with a rescued 8 year old miniature poodle today. He was very frightened and dad was holding him close. He put his head in dad's jacket. He'd had a 22 hour car drive from down south where he had been living in a box for the last eight years. He was very cute but he needed a bath. Mom hopes someone gives him a wonderful forever home.

Sunny Saturday

We are supposed to have a nice, sunny weekend. It was 60 degrees yesterday. Which is unusual.

Mom is afraid we'll get blasted with snow in a week, but Lucky and I are going to kick back and relax.

That is, if mom stops pointing the camera at us.

Teaching Friday

Hey, you all have paws, don't you? Can you wave goodbye, using your paw?

Well, that's what I do to the side of the drawer at the bottom of the stove. I keep waving goodbye (at an angle) and since the drawer is on wheels, it opens. Voila! Your lesson plan for the day. And yes, there are good crumbs, pieces of dog food and whatnot under there!

It's Official

Mom got her 2nd degree black belt tonight.

The young man to the right of her went for black belt with her 2 years ago. They have fun beating on each other. (He is 16, but mom can take him.)

Getting her booster kick from the studio director.

With the actual certificate. Dad was like, geez, mom, you really have to let your feelings out.

Oh, and I learned a new trick. I can open the drawer under the stove. Mom is not impressed. I don't understand why.

Pepere Is A Okay

Pepere's surgery took an hour and a half and his heart did great the whole time. After, the doctors told Memere and Auntie to go home and get some rest, Pepere would be too groggy to see them. Well, guess who called during Memere and Auntie's dinner! Pepere! He said he wasn't feeling any pain and Auntie said he sounded great!

He also called PlusOne, who was real worried about him.

If Pepere heals the way he should, he will be moved to a rehab facility on Wednesday or Thursday, and should be home with Memere and Missy in time for Turkey Day next week!

Mom, dad, PlusOne, Lucky and I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. We know that every prayer counts and we appreciate it. Now mom can concentrate on showing off for Wednesday night. Thanks again!

Monday Moan

As I told you yesterday, Pepere is having surgery at 3:00pm for a new hip. Pepere has a bad heart and the doctors are being really careful with him. They are giving him a spinal and a local.
Mom would love it if everyone could say a prayer for Pepere's operation to go well and for Pepere to heal quickly.
Pepere is very special to our family. We love him an awful lot. We want him up and around as soon as possible.

To take her mind off the operation, Mom is planning a lap robe for the living room, to go on the red sofa.
She is not sure if it will just be reds, or if there will be yellows and oranges as well.

This is a good project to keep her mind busy. But I think she would be better off just giving me scritches. Don't you think?

Bath Time Sunday

Yesterday was mom's last Saturday morning candidate class. It started at 8:25, everyone did 40 push-ups, 60 sit-ups, then ran for 20 minutes. Then they would practice techniques and forms. Mom usually needed a shower when she was done. These last couple classes mom has needed a bath the next day. Today is one of those days.

This is the closest mom could come to showing you her bubble jet tub. She can sit in it up to her shoulders in water, lean her head back and make the bubbles massage her sore, tired body. I usually come check her out, to see if she's okay, but I don't try to climb in. I'm not stupid!

Wednesday night is mom's promotion night. Show off night. Then on to your new goal. In this case, it's third degree black. That will be three years away. PlusOne passed his exam yesterday, so in January he gets to do the Saturday morning fun. Mom gets to watch.

In other news, Pepere is having his hip replaced Monday. Pepere has a bad heart, so they are being very careful with his operation. He is only getting a spinal and a local. Mom would appreciate it if everyone could say a prayer for Pepere's operation to go well and for Pepere to heal quickly. Thanks everyone.

Bad Dog

Dad says I am a bad dog.

I really don't understand why he said that.

After all, so I got through the barricade into the living room and climbed up on the computer desks and spread paper all over the place. I didn't EAT any of it.

Insanity

Do you know the definition of insanity? It is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.

Mom thinks Robin from Top Chef, is insane. She tried new things over and over again for elimination challenges, then was surprised when she was in the bottom. Mom is glad she has finally gone home. She feels bad that Jen "hit the wall", though. Mom thought she would be a contender.

Have a great day.

Another Nice Day

Mom says the calender says it is November, but the weather is saying it's September. She'll take the 60 degrees and lots of sun. And so will we.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Someone told mom it is supposed to be 60 degrees today. Woo hoo! I can go for that!

Delivery Saturday

Mom will be delivering the lap robe later today. She hopes people like it. Auntie donated some of her toiletry bags. You can see them here.

Mom's coworker Angel, donated a necklace. It is really pretty. You can see more of her things here.

Then she is going to have some of her chicken soup she made for Mr. Karate when he was sick. Mom has been fighting a cold for the last two days. She figures the chicken soup is extra ammunition. That and cuddling with Lucky and me.

Finally, Friday!

This is one of two projects PlusOne has due today. The third is due Monday. This is the World Tree. There is Asgard in the branches, Valhalla on the cloud, the great dragon Malice Striker chewing on the roots, Midgard and Nifleheim (hell). Mom sure hopes PlusOne gets a good grade on it. Wait til you see the Great Wall of China PlusOne built.

Thursday Three

Mom is donating it to the silent auction for the Cates Family (the little girl PlusOne raised money for). Mom hopes it does well.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

First off, PlusOne is feeling much better. Mom knew he was feeling better when he called her at work and asked her to bring him some Chicken McNuggets (10 piece) and some french fries, please, with ketchup.

Yup, he was feeling much better. 46 hours of sleep can do wonders for you!

This is dad and PlusOne trying to be Vulcans. They are attempted to have pointy ears. Aren't they silly?

Today's Tattle is about PlusOne. Mom told you about the little girl who's mom was murdered and she was severely was hurt in the home attack? Well her Karate school is having a fund raiser for her family. PlusOne went to school last week and single handedly raised $70.00. From kids and teachers, mostly kids. Mom is sooooo proud of him. She didn't ask him or tell him to do this. He just did it on his own. It wasn't organized or planned. Mom thinks he did very well.

So that's my Tattle for today. Have a great one!
