Have a great New Year's Eve. Dad says we are supposed to get the "storm of the century". He always says that now. The weather guessers always hype up the snowfall and then we get 2 inches of snow. Of course, that's AFTER everyone runs to the grocery store in a panic.
Me, I'm hiding under all the blankets and if mom wants me to go out in it, then she's going to have to drag me outside and STAY WITH ME. Not toss me outside and slam the door. Wuss!
The incredible life of me, Roxy Dragon Pebbles, otherwise known as The Devil Dog and my new sister, Juliet, and my new brother, Loopy. I have no idea what I did to deserve that name! Honest! Just because I'm a black dog doesn't mean I'm naughty dog.

Wordy Wednesday
"A wind chill advisory remains in effect until 6 am est Wednesday. Strong and gusty northwest winds will bring single digit temperatures to the area this afternoon and evening, and below zero temperatures tonight. The winds will couple with the bitterly cold air to produce wind chill readings below minus 20 degrees."
You want me to go WHERE? I think NOT!

TattleTale Tuesday
Mom got some awesome gifts for Christmas. The rotary cutter and seam ripper (Gingher) came from one of mom's karate students. She thinks mom is pretty special. Mom thinks she is pretty special as well. The rotary cutter has a wonderful heft to it and is perfectly balanced. It cuts very nicely.
The other awesome gift mom got was this box made by Mr. Karate's girlfriend. The black fish represents me, the uppermost fawn fish represents Lucky (going counterclockwise, as usual) and the bottom fish (with the blue eyes) represents PlusOne. Mom squealed when she opened it. It really is beautiful, and mom loves it.
Mom spent most of yesterday in bed with me. She didn't get out of bed until after 1:00 pm. Of course, since she spent a good portion of the early am hours in the bathroom, and didn't fall asleep until 6:30 am, I can't blame her. When she wasn't in bed, she was on the sofa, which was almost as good. As much as I enjoyed it, I hope mom feels better real soon.

If you turn up the volume really, really, REALLY loud, you may hear Lucky's very delicate snoring. (She has to be so perfect at everything, it's really annoying.)

Baking Sunday
Twenty four loaves of English Muffin Bread and I don't know how many dozen cookies and mom is ready for bed.
PlusOne came home from school Friday and said he wanted a loaf of bread for all his teachers (seven of them, and Office Friendly) and that he need cookies for the Orchestra Party on Tuesday.
Over twenty five pounds of flour later, mom still has to make eight loaves of bread for people. And then if she and dad want any, she will still have to make more.

Mom Is Funny
As some of you know, mom loves bright, cheerful fabrics. Some of you know that mom has a fetish for bright, colorful Post It Notes. It should then be no surprise to you that mom loves wrapping paper. Oh yes, you heard me, wrapping paper. We have more wrapping paper than we know what to do with, but does that stop mom? Nooooo!!!!! She had to buy two more rolls. Take a look.
Sheesh. Paper is paper. She should have spent the money on something really special, like those really awesome chicken treats we got last year. Sigh. I guess I know how much mom DOESN'T love me!

The Weekend
What is this, you ask? this is PlusOne's sculpture. (We don't know what it is either.) Just like we don't know what the weather will bring this weekend. This is the forecast
Storm Watch 9 meteorologist Kevin Skarupa said the storm could drop 1 to 2 inches of snow on the Granite State beginning late Saturday night and lasting into Sunday. Skarupa said the heaviest snow, approximately 6 to 12 inches, will fall in southern New England beginning Saturday evening. Skarupa warned that if the storm track shifts north by 30 to 50 miles, New Hampshire could see major snowfall as well.
Take care all you bloggers who are in the direct path of this storm. We'll be thinking of you and wishing you a warm place to be.

Fankful Friday
Even though I did not get any of PlusOne's doughnut, I am very fankful that I am not an outside dog. Tonight the temperature is supposed to be a high of 2 degrees F. That is before the wind chill factor.
Last night it was a balmy 8 degrees with a wind chill factor of -11 degrees. Let me tell you, doing our business was a very QUICK affair. Out and in before you could say boo!
I know mom did not let PlusOne give me any doughnut because she doesn't want me to get sick. She made it up to me last night by giving me green beans. I love green beans. So I can't complain about anything. I have a mom and dad, boy and sister who love me, spoil me rotten, and put up with my table dancing. Mom and dad also let me sleep under the covers. I don't think there is much that can beat that.
Have a great day, and stay WARM!

Thursday Three
1) Lately I have been trying to keep my nose warm. With the weather getting colder, I find I prefer my nose to be warmer. Therefore, it gets stuck in blankets, mom's elbow and anywhere against dad. He is a veritable font of heat.
2) Mom is working very hard on her lap robe for the sofa. It is going to be big, to cover all four of us when we sit on the sofa together.
3) NO, I did NOT get any doughnut. Life just isn't fair, is it?

Recital
Here is PlusOne's recital piece, until the camera batteries died, AGAIN. Mom had charged them, too. Sigh. Time for new batteries.
Hope you all had a nice weekend. We had snow, and rain. Again! And it was cold, too! Hope that will not be our winter pattern.

Thursday Three
1) That misshapen mound of snow in the middle of the screen is PlusOne's snowman AFTER it started raining. Now it looks more like the Leaning Tower of Snow.
2) Six inches of snow, then snow and rain, then rain, is expected in New England. What is NOT expected is Lightning and Thunder. On the ninth of December. (It was really freaky, mom couldn't believe it. She is just thankful we didn't have a full out thunderstorm.)
3) Mom is staying up late to watch Top Chef. Go Kevin!

The Dreaded "S" Word
Yup, it snowed! It started Saturday night and was still on the ground when we woke up Sunday morning. We were taken from this nice, warm, comfy position behind mom's back to...
this...
Cold and wet and definitely NOT comfy.
I think Lucky is expressing her disapproval here, but I don't think dad was listening. Phooey. It really is December.

Three Things Thursday (Or Mom's Temper Peeks Out)
1st) Mom is not sure if she is going to stay up and watch Top Chef tonight. She is tired but last week it was over 5 days before the episode was "On Demand"! She doesn't want to wait FIVE days to see this important episode!
2) Mom thinks Jen may go home tonight. She's not sure, but she feels it is a strong possibility.
2a) The world would not end if Bryan V. won. But he is so serious and dull? dreary? that mom doesn't want him to.
2b) Mom REALLY wants Kevin to win. (And so do most of mom's fellow bloggers.) He has a great personality and is really nice.
3) Mom wants Michael V. TO GO DOWN IN FLAMES!
She is so SICK of his "I cook Kevin's food on my day off" that she just wants him GONE, baby, GONE.
And apparently, Tom Colicchio is tired of listening to Michael's whining as well. Because this is what he says in last week's blog:
On the one hand, it seems Kevin won by default, as his slightly overcooked lamb was minor in scope compared with the errors in conception and execution of his fellow chefs. On the other hand, however, I believe that Kevin was the best choice anyway, both to win the challenge and to go on to compete for the spot at the next Bocuse d’Or, and here’s why: I don’t care how often Michael says that he cooks like Kevin on his days off – we know Kevin has great skills. They’re not even at question. While Kevin does not typically think of food along the lines that they do in the Bocuse d’Or, he has handled every challenge – this one included – extremely intelligently, ascertaining what the particular challenge called for, what its potential pitfalls might be (so he could sidestep them), and what might be both a clever and a truly delicious dish to present for that particular challenge. I think that though it’s not his normal inclination to cook as they do for the Bocuse d’Or, if given the time to prepare for the competition, Kevin would apply that same intelligence about food to that particular challenge and would rise to it not only ably but admirably. I think his food would be as precise and as intricate and well presented as anyone’s. If he succeeds in securing the slot at the competition, I believe he’ll get there. The overriding challenge is to make delicious food, and Kevin’s was more precisely cooked and had better flavor than the others, period.
Tom has said this before about Kevin, and Michael, and that is why I love reading his blog. It is also really interesting to read Tom as the judge and a "what you don't see" guy. If you haven't been reading his blog, you're missing out.
So, that's mom's Thursday Three. Mom wants to know what your thoughts are, fellow bloggers? As for me, I don't care, but I sure would love some of the food they cook on Top Chef.
