Yesterday was a beautiful day. Sunny, cool, no humidity. Today we are expecting thunderstorms. Well, the weather can't always be perfect. We just have to make certain to enjoy it when we get it. Even if we don't have it for long enough.

That was the headline on Boston.com last night, with the above photo.

 

You know, living in New England, the above headline is definitely WTF!!!

Tornadoes are relatively rare here. That's for Kansas or Missouri or somewhere NOT HERE! But apparently there was one in Revere, Ma. Even more amazing, there were no fatalities! 

The worst tornado in NH history was in 1821, six people were killed. Connecticut's deadliest tornado was in 1878. Main had tornadoes in 1890 and 1954 that each caused one fatality. There have been 162 tornadoes in Massachusetts since 1950. Vermont and Rhode Island have no records of tornadoes that killed people

Back To Work

Mom went back to work today. Thank goodness! After scouring the garage AND the back porch I think Mom needs to rest. Hopefully work won't be TOO stressful for her.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom ended up cleaning the garage yesterday. Not that is was all that dirty, but she swept it, threw shovels that were no good away and reorganized some shelving. She spent several hours on it, so when she came in at 8:00 pm to wash every square inch of her hot, sweat. dirty self. Lucky and I were very happy. Here's hoping she slows down a little today.

Sunny Saturday

PlusOne and Dad are going away to a "Father/Son" getaway with Grandpa, PlusOne's cousin and four uncles. So that means mom is home alone today and Sunday morning. OMG I better hide, You have NO idea what mom is capable of when she is left alone!

She might decide to rip up a deck...

 and replace it with a composite.

She might decide to put down a new floor...

Or she might decide to paint a bureau

or build a bookcase.

 I am going into hiding. See you when Dad gets back!

Finally Friday

Mom is playing hookey from work and dragging (literally) PlusOne off to the beach. He wants to get buried up to his neck and who is mom to deny him. In the meantime, since Lucky and I can't go to the beach, we're not allowed, we're chilling at home.

Don't Bother Me

We're had a really HUGE thunderstorm last night. I was a GOOD dog and stayed put on the sofa. Hey, I am not TOTALLY bad, it was raining. And I HATE getting wet.

Cuteness Needed

Mom had a frustrating day at work yesterday, so she needed some cuteness today. How's this for cuteness overload?

Today is Auntie's 60th birthday. Can you believe it? I can't! I mean seriously, I didn't know rocks could be that old! lol Seriously though. I love Auntie. Even if I do bark at her every time she comes over.

Ohh, I love the sun! Especially when it is not so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. Just warm enough to make you feel lazy and comfy and totally sloth like. Mom should take after me more.

The Three Musketeers

No, Lucky, PlusOne and I are not the Musketeers I am talking about. I'm talking about the new BBC show, The Musketeers! Certainly not the really BAD, Terrible, Horrible Brat Pack 90's version, or even the Richard Chamberlain, Michael York, Raquel Welch version which mom actually remembers seeing in movie theater.

This version has sword fighting AND muskets. It's fun. And they all look really good in leather and cool hats, lol. So when mom sits still to watch it, I sit on her and enjoy the quiet.

Why?

Why does time pass so quickly when you want it to stretch out nice and leisurely but then when you need more time it snaps like a rubber band flying across the room towards the teacher? (or your brother)
It is already the 17th of July, can you believe it? I can't. I don't even want to think that in 5 months it will be Christmas, how's that for a mind blowing thought. Anyway, I am going to sit here patiently until mom comes home to snuggle up to me and I will treasure those moments like the brilliant gems they are.

 And she didn't complain (much) about this position either. She is such a silly girl, but I love her and I would take a bite out of anyone who was mean to her. Not that anyone would, because we all know she's so darn cute and good natured. sigh.

Fed Up

I am totally fed up with this hot, humid, RAINY weather. I thought Arthur was GONE, I can handle hot and humid (as long as mom has the a/c on, but toss thunderstorms into the mix and forget it! I want nothing to do with it! Give me sunshine and blue skies, please.

Scary Moment

So, I freaked mom out on Saturday. She went to get something out of her car, which was parked in Dad's driveway and for some reason she looked down and there I was, walking right beside her. She didn't realize that I slipped through the door before she shut it. She thought I was safely inside the house. You should have heard her going on about it to PlusOne! All I have to say is it's not like I ran away from her. I just followed her down a few steps, RIGHT BY HER SIDE. It didn't matter. She freaked! And practically kept eyes on me ALL weekend. sigh. I am never going to be able to get into anything good with her watching me 24/7.

Lucky and I are hoping that this Arthur fellow, who's caused all this rain we've been having for the past two days, goes away and doesn't come back. That's not a bad thing to hope for, is it?
