Another Hot One

It's supposed to be warm and sunny today. Mom roto-tilled yesterday and is planning on planting her broccoli, beets and more green beans today. Until it gets to hot to stay out in the sun.

Three Day Weekend!

Mom's going to plant some more green beans and broccoli this weekend. She's also hoping these iris come back. They were behind the raspberry and boysenberry bushes, and mom hasn't seen them in a while.

Lucky and I are going to enjoy the sun, especially since it won't be so hot, hot, hot.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Funny Friday Photo

Look in the mirror, underneath the "W". There's a certain silly PlusOne, who's marching to his own tune.

One of the other moms took this and sent it to mom when she noticed PlusOne. It certainly is him! lol

Finally, Some Cool Weather

It was 97 degrees here yesterday. For the end of May in New Hampshire, that is HOT. I mean HOT! I didn't want to lie in the sun, I didn't want to lie on the carpet. I wanted mom to get home and take me into the AIR CONDITIONED bedroom.

Which she did after watching the season finale of NCIS and NCIS LA. Man, those guys sure do know how to make a really good cliffhanger! Now mom has to wait until September to find out about Gibbs' dad!

The Sunflower Club

My friend Wilma invited Lucky and me into her all girls club, the Sunflower Club. We have already planted our mammoth sunflowers (to spy on boys) so we are in like flint. If you want to join, go talk to Wilma. I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. I know what we'll be having for snacks, broccoli and green beans. YUM!

More Gardening

Mom found six more sunflowers she has to transplant. She found them after she was busy with the green beans and peas. Take a look at this root she found when she was preparing the ground for the transplants.

It took dad to finally pull it out. It was pretty long and deep.

Anyway, behind dad and PlusOne is all green beans and peas now. It's over twenty feet long and mom STILL has more green beans and peas to transplant. I think maybe mom is going to open her own vegetable stand this summer. Since she did that, she now plans to roto-til the other fence wall for the beets and broccoli. strawberries and, of course, the leftover green beans and peas.

Yup, you want any vegies, you just give us a jingle. I'm sure we'll be able to help you out.

No Rest For The Wicked

Mom spent all afternoon transplanting her sunflowers. And killing a few as well.

She thought that since the sunflowers would be very tall, she would put in some small, ground cover plants.

So she planted some dahlia's and two other things that looked pretty. She can't remember their names because she threw the pots away after she planted them. Silly mom.

Tomorrow she is going to tackle the back yard and transplant the green beans and peas. She also has to get more mulch to fill in some of the bald spots by the sunflowers and more edging bricks to finish the wall she started. There's no rest for the wicked, that's for sure. I'm so glad I'm a dog.

The Truth!

Several of you couldn't believe that Lucky would go so far as to climb into the dog food bag yesterday. You all believe she is "Little Miss Perfect" and the "good girl". Well, you are wrong! I may get the food off the counter but LUCKY drags it over to our dog bed and goes hog wild.

Yes, I know, that face looks so innocent, but she IS NOT! She is a devilishly cunning canine.

I mean, seriously. Look at that photo, she doesn't look like she could ever cause trouble, right?

Well, then why does everyone think I do? I look just as innocent in my photo as she does in hers. Don't I? Well, don't I?

Tattle Tale Tuesday

This has been mom's wastebasket for the last 30 something years. (Can you tell?) Mom's older brother (the photographer) gave it to her when she was a young teenager because mom used to suck her thumb and always went everywhere with her blanket. (Mom called it her nu-nu.)

Well, mom stepped on it one too many times and it is now going to that great garbage space in the sky, Rest in peace.

No Suck Luck!

Mom didn't sell Lucky yesterday. She didn't even TRY to sell Lucky yesterday. Dad did try to give ME away, but mom threatened him with a LONG and PAINFUL death, so he gave up. Smart man.

Just When You Think That

You're going to get a nice photo of your child, they do this....

This is a nice one of him.

At least I don't do that to mom.

Cello Concert

Tonight is PlusOne's school concert. In honor of that, Mom thought you should see this cool video of FOUR people playing ONE cello. Enjoy.

Yin Yang

Mom will take photos of the sofa quilt soon. Or so she says.

Monday

Mom was good yesterday. She didn't move 13 million boxes, dig up any dirt, or wash the floor. She let dad and PlusOne make her breakfast and she worked on her quilt and let Lucky and I sleep next to her. She watched Men Who State At Goats with dad (weird movie) and she took a nice bath in her bubble jet tub.

Doesn't that sound like a good Mother's Day to you?

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! We hope you have a great one.

The Apple

Doesn't fall far from the tree. Just last week mom was commenting on the fact that PlusOne was 13 years old and hadn't broken anything. By 13 mom had broken at least one wrist, sprained them, and broken a finger or two AND had stitches twice.

Here's mom's broken pinkie toe, suffered on vacation in Virginia Beach 6 years ago. Mom walked into the toe into the bathroom door frame.

Here's PlusOne's pinkie toe. He kicked the heel of one of the other karate students who had shifted her foot just enough to throw the kick off.

Mom doesn't know if it is broken or not. There's no point going to the doctor. All they will do is tape it to the other toes and say to stay off it.

Mom thinks it's funny that she and PlusOne both broke their right pinkie toes. Yeah, real funny. Ha ha.
