Juliet is JUST LIKE ME!!!

 

When Juliet got off the plane in Boston last Wednesday night, she slipped her leash and ran away!

Rescue Lady and her husband searched for two hours (midnight to 2:00 am) but finally gave up.

Everyone was told about Juliet and she was sighted Thursday morning near the Logan airport cargo area, but it wasn't until Friday morning that she was "caught" by a wonderful Massport worker who literally THREW himself on top of her to catch her.

Mom and Dad are under strict instructions to make sure there is no open door or gate for Juliet to squeeze through and run away, since she is so very shy and nervous about everything. (She was born into a hoarder's house and had never gone outside for months!)

Mom is on vacation next week, so Juliet will be able to feel safe and secure with Mom in the house.
And of course, I'll be there, telling Juliet all about Mom's mad ninja skills.

Meet Juliet

Mom and Dad took me for a looooong drive yesterday to meet my new sister. They have decided to call her Juliet! PlusOne didn't like the name Jasmine and Jessie wasn't going to work either so Juliet it is.

Mom and Dad both got to hold her and we even went for a little walk. Juliet is not leash trained yet, and she likes to hide but The Rescue Lady is convinced Mom, Dad (& the absent PlusOne) will all love and take very good care of Juliet so she will be coming home this coming Saturday.

I am so excited. Can't you tell?

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Yup, we're going to have a nice easy day. Laundry, a little cleaning (since PlusOne isn't here to make a mess) Dad may mow the lawn.

Dad asked the guy handling the backhoe for the city if he would help get the dirt off the patio.

For $80.00 he did that AND leveled it.

That last bit at the far end was too far for him, but Mom, Dad and PlusOne could take care of that little bit.

Next year Mom is planting corn on the cob and MORE GREEN BEANS!!!

Dirt!

Many years ago, Mom and Dad filled in the in ground pool in the backyard.

Over the years, it has settled, and the back yard is not level.

So Mom FINALLY got some money saved to get dirt to fill in the lumpy spots.

She, Dad and PlusOne just have to get it all off the patio and even it off.

Which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't FREAKING 96 degrees F.

Mom thinks it's too hot for me outside. Isn't she awesome?

Mom Loves her Prius

The best gas mileage mom has gotten so far. 

PlusOne said he got that mileage before Mom did so he wins.

I've never seen two people spar over who got the better gas mileage. lol

Mom actually spent $19.60 on gas this week. She went 402 miles and is getting 46.927 mpg.

The B52's

Mom and her BFF went to the beach Sunday and saw the B-52's. It was fun, LOUD, but fun. The only thing mom would have done different, she wouldn't have walked the beach for a total of 5 miles before standing for 3 hours. lol

Pretty Girl Graduates

 Pretty girl graduated from high school Saturday.

She is going to UNH in the fall.

PlusOne managed to get himself invited back to play with the Orchestra for Pretty Girl's graduation.

Mom thinks that's pretty sweet.

Though Mom is not sure how the two of them will do when they can't see each other EVERY DAY like they do now.

Oh well, I guess they'll figure it out.

Finally Friday

This is the kind of week it's been for Mom. She is really happy it's Friday.

Me too. I need some serious snuggle time.

My New Sister

Her name is Jessie (that will probably change), she is 8 months old and she is in Puerto Rico. She should be flying here (paws crossed) on the 17th and after 48 hour quarantine, should be ready to come home to us.

She is part Spaniel and part Corgi, but they are not really sure. She was born into a hoarder's house and probably never saw the outside of it until she was rescued.

PlusOne wanted a pit bull/terrier mix because they are so $%#ing cute, but according to Mom they are also BIG, 40 or more pounds. Mom decided that was too big. So then the family started looking at rescues. After several disappointments, Mom found Jessie. The Rescue Lady thought our family would be a good fit for Jessie. She is a little shy, but we all know I can teach her to be a Devil Dog.

I am looking forward to having a sister. I can show her all the fun things to do, knocking over trashcans. shredding kleenex, eating Mom's green beans. We should have a lot of fun together.
