Preparing For The Big One

Memere called and said we were supposed to get snow on Tuesday and then the biggest storm of the year on Wednesday, so Lucky and I are preparing. Here are our winter coats.


I wish I had booties, but mom doesn't believe in them. That and as soon as she cracks the door I'm back in the house quicker than she can say "boo". I wonder if Wilma would be interested in a road trip to Florida, or maybe Aruba?

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom's going to quilt today. She has to put the quilt for the co-worker together and she has to start another one. She has more fun fabrics I will show you tomorrow.

Lucky and I are staying put. It's 17 degrees F out.

Snowiest January

According to the official weather records, this is the FIFTH snowiest January since the records have been kept. Can you believe it? I certainly can.

Massachusetts is saying this January may break their all time record. I don't know about Connecticut, you'll have to ask Wilma. I certainly hope that February isn't as snowy as January was.

Fabulous Friday

Why is it Fabulous Friday you ask?


Because it's NOT supposed to SNOW today. That's why. Any questions?

Thursday Three

PlusOne is hoping for a THIRD snow day, (in just over a week, we've also had 2 ninety minute delays) but with only 2" - 4" inches expected, mom doesn't think it's going to happen. Then again, we live in New Hampshire where "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change" is the motto. So you never know WHAT'S going to happen.

I know for sure that I am not going out unless someone drags me. And that better NOT happen.

shhh dreaming of spring

Sooooo Cold

It was a balmy -9 degrees F yesterday morning. PlusOne had to walk to school (because of a 90 minute school delay(the buses wouldn't start)) and he told mom his NOSE HAIRS froze on the way. YIKES!

Today is supposed to be a little warmer, but I think that this weather is for the birds! We're also supposed to have snow today and Friday. We have ENOUGH snow, thank you very much. I don't want ANY MORE! It's time for warm weather. It's time for spring. It's time for SURF MUSIC!

Mom And Blondie Go Shopping

Where can mom and Blondie go and cause a nice commotion and have a ton of fun? Fabric shopping, of course! First mom picked out a backing for her latest quilt.

Then mom started picking out fabrics for her latest commission


and things that made her happy. After shopping quite a bit, and paying, mom went to the ladies roomwhere she found the above left two fabrics. She also found a really neat fabric for Blondie. then Blondie found two other really gorgeous blues. But, she needed a white. A search for the perfect white ensued.

The sales lady (while they were paying for these items) asked them if they'd seen the batik sale room (in between comments of how if mom wanted, she could take that quilt off mom's hands, because she really WANTED it. lol)

So off they went to the sale batik room which they had missed. (How they missed it, mom and Blondie just don't know.)

When they saw all the gorgeous batiks on sale, mom and Blondie said it was very unfair that there were so many beautiful batiks on sale. By this time they were both laughing so hard that mom told Blondie "you can buy this and give me half". To which Blondie agreed. By then, Blondie had caught up with mom (as far as spending went) and they did finally leave.

I let her go out on her own for a little bit and look what happens. Sheesh. Parents. You've got to watch them every minute.

Frigid Saturday

It is supposed to be bitterly cold this weekend. So guess what?

I'm not moving from this nice warm place and no one can make me! You got that, mom!

Wordless Wednesday

Tattle Tale Tuesday - Mom's Easy

To bribe, I mean! Last week Mom told one of her co workers he owed her CHOCOLATE for something she had done for him so he brought her four of these!He said two or three of them were protection against future screw ups he might make! lol

Yesterday morning another co-worker told mom she would give her FIVE of the above if mom managed to cancel one of her orders. Mom said she would love to, but it really wasn't up to her and besides, she didn't need another FIVE bars of chocolate.

Then another co-worker brought this in for mom.

This thing is HUGE, a full 10 ounces! Mom's afraid to open it! Mom said she had no idea what she did to deserve it. The co-worker said "no reason."

Talk about easily bribed! I think mom should hold out for money or trips to warm places (without SNOW) that take pugs, what do you think?

Mom finished this top yesterday. She made it for a co-worker's mother (who has been very sick). She likes jewel tones and not a lot of blue (which mom said was a killer!) PlusOne is sleeping over Memere and Pepere's last night, which means Lucky was in bed with mom, dad and me. Hogging the bed like she always does. Sheesh, sisters!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom Is Feeling Blue

This is how mom feels because she hasn't done karate since the 7th of December. Her knee is getting better, but it's slower than mom wants. (Impatient, isn't she?) So anyway, I have to do some serious cuddling this weekend to make her feel better. Wish me luck!

The Backyard

This is our backyard. As you can see in this photo, dad had shoveled some of it, but not nearly enough for Lucky and I to even WANT to go outside. Lucky and I are fortunate compared to Wilma, who got walloped with 30" of snow. Hey Wilma, you can keep the extra snow, we have plenty here.

A Pug's Gotta Do

What a pug needs to do. Especially if it's below freezing and the weather forecasters (liars) are predicting a foot of snow. (Yeah, right! Dad says we'll get two inches.) The point is, if mom's not around to cuddle up with, then I have get warm somehow. Right?

The Daily Grind

While mom goes back to the daily grind, Lucky and I are going to do this. Oh, life is so rough when you are a spoiled pug.

This is a classic pin, mom, lying on the sofa, icing her knee, and Lucky, comfortably placed on mom's right shoulder, effectively pinned. I hate to say it, but two points for Lucky! I completed the pin by lying on mom's hip. Heh heh heh. And who says pugs aren't smart?

Having The Right Idea

It's supposed to snow today. I think Lucky has the right idea. I think maybe I'll join her. Maybe I can drag mom with me. Actually, I don't think that will be too hard.

Fabulous Friday

Why is it fabulous, you ask? Because it means that mom has two days off from work, and after a wicked week at work (try saying that five times fast) mom needs two days off from work. And she also needs to cuddle with a small black pug who only has her best interests at heart.

Totally Tuckered Out

This is what mom felt like last night, after a long, stressful day at work and then an hour of physical therapy for the knee. Even I was smart enough to be a good girl (for a little while, anyway).

So, my mom got me a Facebook page (under the name Roxy Dragon Pebbles) and then she got a whole bunch of friend requests (which is totally cool) except that my silly mother isn't sure what human name goes with which pug name/blog. Can you believe it? Just what am I going to do with her. Sigh. Her training is never going to be completed!

Mom Left Me!

She went back to work. How could she leave me? How can she leave that face? Mom doesn't love me! Waaaah!

Last Day Of Vacation

Actually, it's MOM'S last day of vacation. She has to go back to work tomorrow.

Then physical therapy.

Then she gets to teach karate. She hasn't been on the mat since December 7th. She's not totally steady on her feet, so she's not sure about taking class Tuesday, but at least she'll be teaching and that will make her feel better. Have a great day, everyone.
