The incredible life of me, Roxy Dragon Pebbles, otherwise known as The Devil Dog and my new sister, Juliet, and my new brother, Loopy. I have no idea what I did to deserve that name! Honest! Just because I'm a black dog doesn't mean I'm naughty dog.

Having Trouble
Mom was having trouble taking a photo of this sunflower. It was so bright out, she couldn't see through the camera lens.
So she was winging it.
Finally, success.
We are supposed to have a week long heat wave. Mom sure is glad Lola's air conditioning works, as opposed to the Focus;, which only worked in the morning.

Meet Lola!
Meet Lola. Mom's new car.
I know, I know. I don't know why mom calls her new car Lola. (Because it's red and sassy and mom is tired of being the Ford Focus Wagon mom and wants to be the cool and sassy mom. ~ Lucky)
Whatever. Mom doesn't normally name her cars. Auntie does that. But this time mom felt her car deserved a fun name, hence Lola. I don't get it. Maybe it's cause mom is getting close to 50. I don't know. All I know is mom is happy and I like that.
(Mom is happy because the car doesn't clunk and clank every time she hits a bump, it's really quiet and it drives like a fluffy cloud. Mom also feels a lot safer now that she has gotten rid of her 10 year old car. ~ Lucky)
Okay, okay. When are we going for a ride?

Blogoversary & Sad News
Today is my THREE year Blogoversary! Isn't that cool? I can't believe I have been blogging that long. I have met some great woofies, and even kitties (after all, Millie is my fur cousin).
But while it is a really cool day for me, I have some really sad news. Two of our blogger buddies have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. The first is Fat Eric. And yes, Eric really was FAT. He lost a lot of weight but still looked fluffy because of his gorgeous floofy ginger fur. He was British and he was quite a character. I have enjoyed reading about Eric very much over the last two years.
The other friend to go to the Rainbow Bridge is Lucky's boyfriend Luxor. Their romance started when Lucky said she thought that Luxor was the "Gregory Peck" of mancats. Luxor responded with "Lucky, why are you with that boy, and not with me" and voila, the great Road Trip For True Love began.
Lucky insisted on going all the way to New Mexico to see her beloved and I, of course, had to go to make sure nothing happened to her. At least fifteen bloggers joined us on the trip. Rereading the comments is pretty funny. It was a fun time. Luxor was so happy to meet Lucky. I know he will be keeping watch over her from the Rainbow Bridge (between his frolicking with Fat Eric).
Lucky and I will miss Eric and Luxor tremendously. They were wonderful friends who were loved by all.

Check This Out!
Mom says she has known for a long time that us pugs are smarter than most people realize. It is good to see that Time Magazine has figured that out as well, by putting us on the cover. Here is a funny story that mom likes to tell that proves her point.
Before Lucky and me, there were the pugs that came before, Muffie and Bridget. One day, Muffie came over to the sofa to see Bridget lying on mom's right hip. Muffie studied mom for a moment, then ran over to the chair in the front of the house. Jumping on the chair, she barked out the window. Bridget jumped off mom's lap and ran to join Muffie on the chair. Muffie jumped off the chair, ran over to mom, jumped on the sofa and laid down in the spot that Bridget just vacated. When Bridget returned, her spot was taken.
Now tell me that is NOT strategy and manipulation at it's best.

My Job
My job is to test the clean laundry for comfiness. I roll around in it and on it to test if for softness. Sometimes the clothes are not soft enough and I have to roll around on them quite a bit. Occasionally I have to sleep on the clothes to ensure their perfection for mom and dad. It's a hard job, but someone has to do it.

A Gift From Daisy Mae Maus
My good friend Daisy Mae Maus commented last week that she found something that "screamed" Lucky and my name. Today, we received the package in the mail. PlusOne wanted to open it while mom was at work, but mom wouldn't let him. Look what Daisy Mae Maus sent us!
Pug salt and pepper shakers. Aren't they adorable? Mom thinks so.
I am not so sure. But as long as they don't eat my food, I'm sure we will get along just fine.
Thanks Daisy Mae Maus & mom. These are just the best! (Well, they would be if they were made of broccoli. lol)

Tattle Tale Tuesday
You all know how lazy my mom gets on the weekend. Well, this weekend was no exception. After coming home from her karate step exam (which she passed), she decided to paint the front steps. She got most of it done, but there are a couple of holidays she has to fix and some warped boards that will have to be replaced (she painted them anyway, silly mom.) She also had to trim the bushes to get to the outside of the steps. Of course, in the bushes mom got stung by a yellow jacket (again) on her right cheekbone (again) and it swelled up a lot (again).
Then on Sunday she decided to work on her cementing project.
You really should have about 12" of cement between your foundation and any grass/dirt, so mom was trying to make it happen.
She needs to finish up the top layer, but she didn't have any more cement and she was getting tired. She also hand mixed the cement so her finger tips are pretty cut up.
If that wasn't enough, she decided that Lucky and I needed baths!
Here's Lucky after her dip in the tub.
And here's me, trying to look pathetic. (is it working?)
Look at all the fur I lost. Can you believe it? Mom had fun cleaning the tub after that. So that was my mom's lazy weekend. I just can't believe how much of a slacker my mom is. Can you?
