Almost Wordless Wednesday

It wasn't hot yesterday, but it sure was HUMID! YUK!!!

Wow

Just two (or was it three) weeks ago, the temperature was in the 90's. Yeah, I guess Fall really IS coming. Drat!

In other words, I have to snuggle mom tonight so she gets better. Every day she feels a little better, but if she stayed home, we would ALL feel better. lol

Nice and Sunny

Mom moved the dog bed into the breakfast nook so Lucky and I could sit in the sun. It was nice. As long as mom was there with us. When she moved, I moved. (I didn't get out of bed until mom did, It was nice.)

It's Getting Colder

It's getting chillier lately. That's why I am sitting on the grocery bag. When it is 90 degrees during the day and it drops to 60 at night, it's nice. When it's in the 70's during the day and it drops down to the 50's it's chilly. I don't even want to think about Fall coming, much less Winter. And I REALLY don't want to think about snow. We had enough last year, thank you very much.

I Don't Think

I do not think Mom will be doing too much cleaning today. She got a sore throat yesterday and I think we are going to get lots of snuggles while she takes things a little easy. Woo Hoo  For the snuggles, not for the sore throat.

This Is Just Adorable

Mom just thinks it's the neatest thing ever that the Pope is being driven around in a Fiat. He's the leader of the Catholic nation and he's going around in the equivalent of a toy car. Yeah, mom knows it's Italian, but still, it's SMALL!  It's a PUG sized car, as opposed to the HUMONGOUS SUV that preceded the Pope to the White House.

Wordless Wednesday

CHILLY!

It was 48 degrees F last night. Last week it was hot, hot, hot and now it's quite... brisk. Last night I climbed under the blankets to keep myself (and mom) warm. It worked. Three guesses where I'll be tonight. (First two don't count, lol)

Sunflower Seeds

Mom is going to try and harvest some sunflower seeds this year. With heads that big she should get SOME seeds, lol.

Fall Is Coming

It's getting colder here in New Hampshire. That's why I'm sitting on the grocery bag. I really don't want to think about Fall, much less Winter. I don't want to think about snow, So I'll think about staying in bed with a sick mom. THAT sounds good.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom is planning on doing more cleaning today. Lucky and I will be hiding just like we did yesterday. We were safe on the sofa while mom was vacuuming away. Hope she doesn't plan on vacuuming the sofa, lol.

Sleepy Saturday

Mom is probably going to go into another cleaning frenzy today. Last week it was PlusOne's room. I don't know which room she's tackling today but I know Lucky and I want to be out of the way. I wonder what we can do to stay out of her way. 

Oh yeah, a nap on the sofa. That will  keep us both out of  mom's way while doing something we love. That's a win win in any book.

First Time!

PlusOne voted for the first time Tuesday. It was a primary for mayor and aldermen. In NH, you can register and vote on the same day, which is what he did. Mom was so proud of him.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

Dad had to work Saturday (because of the holiday) so he took yesterday off. Except he forgot to tell Mom and PlusOne that. So when walked into PlusOne's bedroom yesterday morning to wake PlusOne up, PlusOne said (in alarm) "What are you doing here?"

"I live here" Dad replied.

Mom thought it was a hoot.

What's An Emu?

The emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) is the second-largest living bird in the world by height, after its ratite relative, the ostrich. It is endemic to Australia.

And there is one running around the town of Bow, NH. How weird is that! lol

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Oh yes, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Mom can balance the checkbook and clean to her heart's content. Dad and PlusOne can do all the yard work they want. Lucky and I will just be here chilling in the sunbeam. What a perfect morning.

It's been a long time since PlusOne was so small. lol But he's still just as cute!

The Heat Is Leaving

After I don't know how many days of heat and humidity(WAY TOO MANY), we are finally getting a break. PHEW!

No I won't stick to the carpet any more. lol

Back To Work

Mom goes back to work today, but it's not like she didn't work this weekend. She cleaned out the sewing room and re-arranged some artwork. PlusOne is using the back porch for a studio, so there was a major shifting of stuff.

Mom forgot how hard it was to nail into paneling. YUK!

As for what art is going to hang in PlusOne's studio, well, that's up to him. lol

Happy Labor Day

So mom has been sitting in the breakfast nook a lot lately, so I have joined her, sitting in the sunbeam. After she took this photo she got the dog bed for me, because she didn't want me sleeping on the hard floor. Isn't she wonderful?

Well, I'll tell you, if she was so wonderful she would have stayed in bed where it was a LOT more comfy, but of course there was no sunbeam. sigh

I guess I can't have it both ways.

Memere Is Doing Well

Auntie brought Memere dinner last night (hospital food is not really all that appetizing) and what Memere didn't eat she put in the fridge for lunch today with Pepere. She is doing well, working hard at her physical therapy and listening to her doctors, but I think she needs one more thing to really feel better.

Annual First Day of School Photo

PlusOne started college Monday and Mom took the obligatory First Day of School Photo. For the last few years PlusOne was wearing a red so he totally had to wear a red shirt. Mom had to laugh. After four more years of this, he'll have his Masters and a teaching certificate. OMG when did he grow up?

Oh No

This is Memere. Mom's mother. She is 82. She fell down Sunday night and got a small fracture in her right hip. Mom got to work yesterday and Pepere called to tell her what happened. Memere needed surgery to put in two screws to keep her hip together. Since Memere has had three pulminary embolisms, surgery was complicated. Luckily, the doctor was good and Memere was out in 25 minutes. Now she just has to heal. Hopefully she'll be home by Sunday.
