Silly Mom

She forgot to blog last night. She was tired and it went right out of her head. Along with a few other things, I think. lol. Luckily, she has photos of me on her work computer.

Not Again!!!

Mom said that people were slipping and sliding all over the road on the way home last night. One guy, going too fast, came towards mom sideways. She thought he was going to slide right into the entire length of her car. When he managed to get control of his truck, he gave her the wide eyes and full of teeth smile. I don't think mom smiled back.

Where Was I??

This is my fur-cousin, Millie. Millie is a kitty. Auntie likes to call her the bionic kitty because she has a metal rod in her leg. In the beginning, Millie's life wasn't all indoors, warm and all the real life dead beef you could eat. Because as a teeny tiny kitty, Millie was run over by a CAR! Yup, you heard me. A CAR! Then she had an operation and then they had to find a home for her, so she wasn't spoiled rotten from the get go. But we can all agree she deserves it now.

And that is why Millie feels safer indoors. And who can blame her. I have been IN a car, but never run over by one, thank goodness. From the photo above, you can see that Millie and I share the love of being warm and eating BEEF. We also like jumping ON things, though Millie is probably better at getting DOWN than I am.

And oh yeah, hiding under stuff. Here I am on top of the clean laundry and underneath mom's black skirt. heh heh

But I STILL can't understand why Millie doesn't like broccoli, green beans, asparagus, popcorn, cheese and TUNA!!! I though all kitties liked TUNA! But as the old saying goes, if we were all the same, life would be boring. And this way, there is WAY more tuna, broccoli and green beans for me. lol

When They Say

When they say bitter cold, the weather guessers aren't kidding. Although the last two days have seen MUCH warmer weather (20's as opposed to single digits) the bitter cold is supposed to come back. You know where I'll be, and if I'm not here, then I'm in bed with mom under the blankies. Don't bother me unless it's REALLY REALLY important. (Note, being warm is MUCH more important than almost anything, lol)

Oh Boy

Over ten years ago PlusOne started going to karate. Today, he is taking the first test for his Third Degree Black Belt.

Here he is at 11, getting his Black Belt.

And here he is at 13 getting his Second Degree Black Belt.

In about 11 weeks mom hopes she will have a photo of him with his Third Degree Black Belt. Go PlusOne!

The Gauntlet Has Been Thrown

My dearest fur cousin Millie says that the REAL reason I am griping about not having one of these (a heated cat cup)

 

is because I don't have one of these

to use when the temperature outside reads as shown below.

Millie is partially correct. Who in their right mind would want to go outside in 3 degrees F, point their backside to the wind and do their business with the cold air whipping around their body?

Not me, mind you. Not me at all. However, Millie forgets the UPSIDE of being able to go outside

Let's see, to recap, broccoli, green beans, raspberries, boysenberries and sugar snap peas.  I bet Millie doesn't get any of that fresh of the bush! No, what REALLY fries my bacon is that Millie has a heated cat cup and SHE NEVER GOES IN IT!!!! Seriously, Millie? What's your problem?

And oh yeah, who needs one of these when any place in the house will do?  heh heh heh

Thursday Throwdown

This is my "fur-cousin" Millie. She is a cat. She is an INDOOR cat. She NEVER goes outside. (Unless it is to go visit the V-E-T, which is only once a year.)

 

She is a SPOILED cat, which is not a BAD thing, as Lucky and I are SPOILED pugs. Her mom loves her the way mom loves us. Can you tell?

 

 So I don't mind so much when Millie says, wake up, the snow is over, the weather guessers got it wrong. What I DO mind is this!!!!

 Do you know what this is? It's a HEATED CAT BED. Seriously? A cat that never goes outside gets a HEATED bed? WHERE'S MINE, MOM???

Aren't I worth it?

Balancing The Books

Mom kept saying she was "balancing the books" but I didn't see her walking around with any books on her head, or any books in her hands for that matter. Maybe it's a secret code. I will have to research this further. When I get opposable thumbs, lol.

Easy Lie Sunday Morning

I have a feeling mom is going to be running around cleaning again today, so Lucky and I figure we'll be safe on the sofa. At least I HOPE we'll be safe on the sofa.

Staying Warm

My mom likes to make certain Lucky and I are warm enough in the winter, so she covers us with a blankie whenever she walks by and sees us uncovered. I have to say, sometimes my mom is a pain, but she sure does love us. And boy am I glad for that. I hope you have a mom that keeps you warm as well.

You Know

I think you will all agree that winter is not so bad as long as the sun is shining and there is a sunbeam to sleep in.

Fun Fabric Thursday

Mom has two projects she is working on. A donated lap robe for the Kentuckiana Pug Rescue and a queen size quilt. The lap robe fabrics are the top two photos (with blogspot kept rotating 90 degrees for some odd reason)

The quilt lady's favorite color is pink. She also likes browns and tans.

And here are the fabrics mom bought just because. (Just because they are gorgeous!!!)

Mom's afternoon was really rough. She came home looking like this. But I wonder, if she looks like that and she has karate as a stress relief, then can you imagine what she would be like WITHOUT karate???

Hiding

I am hiding from mom and what my fur-cousin Millie says is the rug sucking monster. Mom is on a frenzy. She was crawling under PlusOne's computer desk, making stacks of books and papers all over the living room AND she brought up the hole maker to put a hole in her new sewing table. The safest place for me is back here and that's where I am staying until mom's done. Who knows when that will be but if worse comes to worse, I can always hide in bed with Dad!

This is Lucky's hedgehog I am chewing on. Her porcupine is right next to me. I don't chew on stuffies, unless they're Lucky's. And unless she wants them.  Hey, what did you expect from The Devil Dog???

She's At It Again!

Yup. Mom decided her sewing table was too small and not very sturdy. So off to one of her favorite stores where she came back with this.

 

But that was too high, so mom replaced the end cabinet with another cabinet she had.

Much better! Plus, it's already the correct color. Mom's not sure what color the top should be, so she is going to "think" about it for a while (in other words she's going to wait until it gets warmer to paint). She also is looking at different chairs and some sort of bookcase/shelf unit. So, it's a work in progress. Oh boy!
