More Healthy Monday

Lucky and I forced mom to rest as much as we could this weekend, and as a result, she is feeling better. (Wow, imagine that!) Now if we can just keep her that way!

PlusOne Comes Home Today

PlusOne comes home early (8:00am) this morning. Lucky's excited, can you tell?

Nothing Says Spring Like RAIN!

It is supposed to rain quite a bit today, which doesn't bother me because I am going to be inside, nice and dry, cuddled in the blankie with my sister, Lucky. It can rain all it wants, I am not leaving the sofa.

Yesterday was our annual visit to Dr. Loves Me A Lot, otherwise known as the v-e-t! He repeated his belief that I was perfect, perfect, perfect. At 15.4 pounds (the same as last year) I am a  healthy and perfect example of female pugness. Lucky was doing well at 10.4 pounds (she dropped 2 pounds from last year, but the Dr. is not worried, he says it is better for her back). Even though Lucky's back legs don't work as well as mine, he says Lucky is happy and healthy. (It was hard to argue with that when she was snuggled up in the vet tech's arms getting scritches and giving kisses).

In other news, PlusOne called from DC. He bought a sword. Made out of some sort of plastic. Nice to know he's having fun. lol

Road Trip

PlusOne is going on a road trip. His high school orchestra is going to Washington DC to participate in the Festival of Music Competition. They will be working with the Assistant Director of the "President's Own" United States Marine Band and they will go the Kennedy Center to attend a performance of the National Symphony Orchestra.

PlusOne won't be back until Sunday morning, so Lucky will be crashing with mom, dad and me. sigh. Sunday can't come soon enough.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

PlusOne went off to the pet store to see if he could buy a water dish that would be easier for Lucky to use. Since the floor is hardwood, her back legs tend to slide and then she ends up sitting, trying to drink water. He came home with something like this.

Which was okay, until Lucky stuck her head under the spout and got her head all wet. Mom thinks we need a floor mat so Lucky can get some traction and her legs won't slide out from under her. I don't know about that. All I know is that I didn't go near the thing. It was WEIRD!

Marathon Monday

Today is the 118th running of the Boston Marathon. One year ago, two angry, hated filled men caused

untold pain and suffering by planting two bombs at the Boston Marathon. They thought they would intimidate the city, make everyone cower in fear and hurt as many people as they could.

They did, indeed, hurt many people. They killed five people. But they underestimated the people of Boston, New England, and the US as a whole. Doctors, nurses, first responders and people who had first aid training in the Boy Scouts as a child, all rushed to help the injured. Many ran from the marathon they had just finished running to the hospitals to help in any way possible. Boston came together in a single instant, rallying around the tragic event to help the injured and to help the police catch the men responsible. Bostonians refused to be broken. They were strong. They fought back. And I am proud to be associated with their strength, to be Boston Strong. Boston, you're my home!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter, everyone! And happy Sunday for everyone else. Mom was looking for Easter images and got caught up in these beautiful egg photos. She doesn't know if these were hand painted or what, but she sure thinks they are pretty.

Sunny Saturday

It's supposed to be very nice and sunny today, so Lucky and I are going to enjoy the outdoors while PlusOne and Dad do yard work. Mom is being kidnapped by her BFF Blondie for some much needed "girl" time. I'll let you know how much fun they have later. (If I ever get her back. Mom and Blondie have been known to disappear for a while.)

Finally Friday

Mom's had a rough week. PlusOne has had an on and off stomach upset and mom's been fighting a cold, which WAS getting better, until yesterday. When her throat got WICKED sore and mom didn't feel like talking. She just wants to climb in bed and stay there, sort of like what I do when she goes off to work. She wishes she were me right now but I sure don't want to be her. lol

That's Right

I have my coat on (actually, Lucky's coat) because there was SNOW on the ground this morning when mom woke up. SNOW!!! I am not even going to dignify that with a photo of the obnoxious white stuff. Just now that I am not putting my coat away until we have a MONTH of 50 degree or higher weather.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

It was 79 degrees on Monday. sigh!

Did We Skip Spring?

I am only asking if we skipped spring because it was 78 degrees yesterday and that is definitely NOT spring like weather. More like early summer. I'm not complaining, mind you. I'm just saying. And it was windy. I was expecting to see Dorothy and Toto fly by, as well as a couple of monkees, lol.

To top it off, it was a full moon and a BLOOD moon (sounds ominous, huh?). All I can say is I'm not getting up at 3:30 am to go check out the lunar eclipse. Neither is mom. It's just going to have to go on without us.

Monday Grumpies

Mom went back to work today, it rained yesterday and I want broccoli or green beans. I figured since it was Monday I could be cranky if I wanted. It is my prerogative, after all. Maybe it won't be a yukky day (it is supposed to be in the 70's after all) but if it is nice and sunny, I'm in here and the nice weather is OUT THERE! See, told you I was cranky.

Easy Like Sunday Morning & The Flu

It was beautifully warm and sunny yesterday. We all enjoyed the nice weather. Mom was hoping to feel better,  but it turns out the "cold" she thought she had is really the flu! Apparently the whole body ache thing is one of the symptoms. So mom is resting today and hoping she can get rid of this stupid flu once and for all!

Super Weekend

You all know I have been complaining about the cold weather or the rain lately. Well, it looks like we will have a super (though maybe not terribly sunny) weekend. I hope mom takes me for a walk again. It was fun!

The Tub

Mom has a great tub. It is deep and makes bubbles.

I don't like it, but PlusOne does!

And mom LOVES it when she is sore and tired like she has been the last two days. She is fighting the nasty cold and feels like she's been trampled by a couple of elephants. So, to her, there is nothing better than soaking in a nice warm, bubbly tub which she has done the past two nights. As for me, I may come in and check on her, but I am certainly NOT joining her.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

It wasn't really sunny yesterday and mom is fighting a cold. So Lucky and I decided to be very pug like and snuggle, ignoring everything and losing ourselves in a nice warm nap. Sometimes it's good to have a sister.

Nice Day For A Walk

Mom and I went for a walk yesterday morning. It was very nice, brisk but sunny. Then mom and PlusOne went to see The Winter Soldier.

And boy, does mom want a set of these! She thinks that would be so awesome! She has always wanted to fly, that's why she loves Superman. I like staying on the ground myself,  but it would make mom happy. I wonder if I can order her a set. lol

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Wow, Friday Already?

How did it get to be Friday already? I am rather amazed at how time has been flying by. At least the last three days have been sunny. Here's hoping for today to be sunny as well.

Thankful Thursday

We have had TWO sunny, warmer days in a ROW! We are very thankful for that. Now we are hoping to make it THREE in a row! Paws crossed!

April Fool's Day

This is the forecast for the rest of this week. I wish I could say it was an April Fool's Day joke and we were REALLY supposed to get weather in the 70's but I can't. Still, mom will take this instead of the sleet we had yesterday morning that made the roads nice and slippery.
