The incredible life of me, Roxy Dragon Pebbles, otherwise known as The Devil Dog and my new sister, Juliet, and my new brother, Loopy. I have no idea what I did to deserve that name! Honest! Just because I'm a black dog doesn't mean I'm naughty dog.

By Popular Demand

I, mom, have hijacked the blog. I have a good reason, too. By popular demand I present to you Dreams With Deadlines. The blog for all of us who have goals and who bravely want to post them, to hold ourselves accountable for the attaining of them. It will also be a support group for anyone trying to achieve their goals.
I have just built it, but I haven't figured it all out yet. I don't know if it should be rotating among anyone who wants to post or what. I don't think it will be every day, but who knows. Send me your ideas, your goals, your thoughts and help me figure it out. Together we can lose those ten (or thirty) pounds, get that exercise program going and generally support each other like we do anyway.
So, what do you say?

A Day With Dad
There was a Looney Tunes marathon on yesterday. Dad and PlusOne really enjoyed it. Mom's favorite is What's Opera, Doc?, otherwise known as "Kill the wabbit!"
Mr. Karate enjoyed them as well, that is, after mom did her 30 minutes on the treadmill and they practised techniques. Mom has learned 26 techniques since joining the black belt class. Mr. Karate is working for his 3rd degree black belt, so mom offered to be his dummy?, I mean partner.

Since it was 14 below ZERO with the wind chill factor here yesterday (and YES the wind did NOT stop blowing), we didn't go out much. When we did, we had our coats on and it was a very
This is where we were most of the day. It was great. Mom was too antsy to sit still. She took down the tree and the creche, packed it all up and brought everything down cellar. I guess she's had as many days of sitting still as she can handle.

brief trip.
Anyone who wants to join in a support group with mom in regards to losing weight or any other goal, just let mom know. One of the reasons she posted the goals is so that everyone will ask her about them and then she will be more accountable to how she does. Don't expect to see the push-up number any time soon. Mom wants to do them without pain, so she is working on strengthening her shoulder before she works on that. Sit-ups will start Monday.

Happy New Year!
Mom has some goals for the New Year. Now remember, Goals are Dreams with a Deadline. Here are mom's most important goals.
1) Mom needs to lose some weight. She wants to lose 30 pounds. (lucky doesn't have to lose weight, she is 12.5 pounds. I don't have to lose weight, I am 17.5 pounds, no matter what I eat.) Mom wishes she was more like me. sigh.
2) Mom wants to strengthen her shoulder muscles, and help out her gimpy right shoulder. She has been doing her FIRM workout with weights. She has done it twice this week, so far.
3) Mom wants to get back into her running, in case she has to run 5 miles for her next goal. She has gotten on the treadmill for 30 minutes on Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday. She will be doing another half an hour today.
4) Mom wants her 2nd degree black belt. See the belt below? She wants another red stripe on it.
Part of that may be a physical exam of 50 push-ups (which is why she is doing the weights) 80 sit-ups (Mom can do that) and the running. She also has to know all her forms (Four and Five she learned in the Black Belt Class and are HARD) and all the techniques she has learned since becoming a black belt. The test has so far proved harder for almost all the students who have tested for it. Mom does not intend to be a casualty. Mom is going to PASS!
5) Mom wants to do more sewing, and make some more lap robes, including one for herself, to match the living room.
6) Mom wants to sew better, like Auntie.
So there you have it, mom's goals for the new year. What are your goals? Or rather, Dreams with Deadlines!
