The incredible life of me, Roxy Dragon Pebbles, otherwise known as The Devil Dog and my new sister, Juliet, and my new brother, Loopy. I have no idea what I did to deserve that name! Honest! Just because I'm a black dog doesn't mean I'm naughty dog.

Monday, Monday
Yesterday was cold, damp and raining. In the 40's. Today it might get into the lower 50's.
Any questions?

Iowa
Today was cold and dreary. Not at all nice. Mom helped PlusOne type up his State Report on Iowa. PlusOne thought Iowa was pretty funny for having a State Rock, Soil, and Fossil, until he saw that Massachusetts had a State Drink, Cat, Dog, Horse and Donut! Boston Creme, of course.
He and mom got a good laugh at that.
Lucky helped him with the report. I'm not sure what help she gave him, exactly, but he said she helped.
Person #1: Is this heaven?
And:
Person #1: Don't tell me, you're from outer space.

Mom has 2 favorite comments about Iowa. The first is:
Person #1: Is this heaven?
Person #2: No, it's Iowa.
And:
Person #1: Don't tell me, you're from outer space.
Person #2: No. I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

The Return of PlusOne
PlusOne has been with grandpa, nana and his aunt, uncle and cousin since Wednesday afternoon. He came back this morning. I was so excited about that that when mom, dad and PlusOne went to Auntie's to celebrate Mr. Karate's birthday, I climbed up on the table and could not get down. This is how mom found me. Notice the chairs, that dad pushed in. Wondering how I got up there? So is mom.
Anyway, Mickey tagged us for the Six Word Memoir meme.
Here are the rules:
1) Write your own six word memoir.
2) Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.
3) Link to the person that tagged you in your post, and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4) Tag at least five more blogs with links.
5) Don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.
6) Have fun

Last Day - Sob
Mom said today is the last real day of her vacation. That stinks, as far as I am concerned. Do you like the look I am giving her?
It was another beautiful day here. Sunny, not windy, and in the 80's. Mom worked on her quilt a lot, (it is getting really big) and she worked in the garden a little.
watched mom,

Mostly Lucky and I slept in the sun,

The Book Meme
Today was another beautiful (albeit slightly windy) day. And mom did a lot of relaxing, working on her quilt and some minor cleaning up. She didn't even go to class tonight! She will go tomorrow.
As you can see, Lucky and I really enjoy mom being home. We like lying in the sun.
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
"Patrick knew, from talking to the shrinks who'd been assigned to work with the victims, that this was perfectly normal. Amnesia was one way for the mind to protect itself from reliving something that would otherwise break you apart. In a way, he wished he could be as lucky as Josie, that he could make what he'd seen vanish."

Mom decided to do the book meme. It has been running around the blogosphere and she hadn't done it yet, so here goes.

Thursday Thirteen
Thirteen things to do when it is sunny, 85 degrees out and your mom is on vacation.
1) Let your sister clean your face. In the sun.
3) Just lie there. In the sun.
5) Talk to your sister. In the sun.
8) See how far you can stretch. In the sun.
6) Stretch and see if you can touch your sister, who isn't looking at you. In the sun.
7) Look really cute. In the sun.
8) See how far you can stretch. In the sun.
10) Turn your back on your mom. Out of the sun. Because it's hot.
11) Let your mom know you are still watching her. Out of the sun. Because it is hot.

Sleepy Heads
Yesterday was fun. Mom slept late, got dressed late and worked on her quilt a lot. While she was working on it, guess what Lucky and I were doing?
Yup, we were relaxing. Chillin'. Having a grand time "snoopervising" as they say in the blogosphere. And guess what PlusOne did? He slept even later than mom. He slept 14-1/2 hours. Of course, he has been fighting this nasty cold, chest congestion, fever thing. Mom took him to the doctor's Friday afternoon and he had a prescription pretty darn quick, let me tell you. So he has been sleeping a lot, can you tell?
And he has been eating like a HORSE. But you can't tell that, can you? Seriously, the kid ate SEVEN and a half pieces of KFC chicken, drumsticks and thighs. After he peeled all the skin off. And then he had like 6 s'mores, a couple of popsicles and goodness knows what else. Mom is expecting him to sprout out of his pants any day now.
Today, they are going to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. That should be fun, for them. For Lucky and me, not so much. Oh well. They'll be back soon. And I will make mom pay for leaving us behind. Heh heh heh.

This Is More Like It
Ta Da!
Here is the finished Ham Meezer Quilt. It is flying off to Mary Kay today.
Naturally, I am checking it out. Mom was supposed to help Auntie tie it, but since Mr. Karate did that, mom didn't have to. Yeah.
So instead, mom worked on her quilt. Lucky kept a careful watch to make sure mom was not working too hard.
And mom decided she did not want to balance the checkbook, so she didn't. She worked on the quilt. She didn't rake, she didn't go food shopping (dad does), she did do laundry and change the sheets on the bed, but she just sort of relaxed. And worked on the quilt. See, Lucky is keeping careful track of all the pieces. Isn't she a good girl.

And then mom, dad and PlusOne watched Underdog. It was really cute. But seriously, a BEAGLE with super powers? It should have been a pug. We are much cuter. And much smarter.

This is Vacation?
So, on the first day of vacation, mom got up at 8:00 am, talked to dad, then memere, then went off to karate. PlusOne was still sleeping. He has a bit of a virus, and is on medication. When mom came back, she found out that PlusOne and Dad had gone for a ride on dad's scooter.
So, since it was 76 degrees, mom decided to rake in the back yard. And of course she took Lucky and me outside with her. Let me tell you something! Watching her rake is tiring. Plus, it got pretty hot out there in the sun. Especially if you have a dark coat! So this is what I did when we got back inside.
After that, mom worked on her quilt, took PlusOne to his cello lesson, and then they all went to see a movie, with Mr. Karate and Auntie. They went to see the new Jet Li & Jackie Chan Movie, The Forbidden Kingdom. They had a lot of fun.
When they got home, mom worked on her quilt some more, they ate, mom cleaned the kitchen, then she and PlusOne went to the bookstore. (Tomorrow she wants to tackle the pile of things on the computer desk, which includes the checkbook and some insurance paperwork.
Now I ask you, does that sound like a relaxing day? I think I am just going to have to SIT on that woman to make her stop and rest. And I mean SIT!

Vacation Day #1
In honor of the first day of vacation, Lucky is going to help mom with her quilt. Lucky is keeping the quilt pieces warm. Isn't she a good girl? I would be "re-organizing" them. You know what that means.
Since it is the first day, mom is going to rest a little. She has suddenly decided she is tired.
So I guess some sleeping is in order.
