Back Porch aka Sewing Room

Several of you have asked mom how the back porch, aka mom's new sewing room is going. It's going!

This is the lovely paneling that was there before. Isn't it homey? (If you're high, maybe!)

This is where the chimney was, for the wood stove. It made the wall really unusable, so mom had it torn down. No, she did not do it herself!

This is the wall where mom is going to make a drop down tilted work desk, for cutting, matching, and pinning.

See the lovely hole in the ceiling where the chimney was? Now you see it...

Now you don't!

The bottom half of this wall should be finished today. Mom is going to replace the window with a much more energy efficient one, or two.

Here is the color mom is going to paint the room. I know the photo is blurry, but you get the idea. Funny thing is, the color, which is blue, is called Pottery Red? Say what? The only thing mom doesn't know is which one to use for the trim. The light, light blue (which you can't really see), or the other blue, the bottom one. She will have to ask Auntie. Oh, Auntie...

If anyone has any ideas, or comments about that, don't be shy, speak up. Mom will listen. And then do what she wants. hee hee

This is the first mom has seen of it since before Christmas, when it was stolen! Mom ID'd it at the police station, but it has been "evidence" ever since. Mom FINALLY got it back. Dad is wicked psyched about the camera. Mom is happy about the jewelry and movies, except she did not get her Engagement Ring, her Mother's Ring and one sterling silver bracelet back. Those are under different case numbers, so mom has to call the police tomorrow.

2 of the 4 thieves have pled guilty. Two more have to plead or go to trial before it will be all over with. One is scheduled for December and one for January. Sheesh! You think it's been long enough?



Mr. Karate came over and helped mom get these pictures of her cell phone. PlusOne took them. I think Lucky's photo is especially good, don't you?

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen random thoughts and photos.

1) Yesterday was PlusOne's first day of school. Here is the annual First Day Photo.
2) PlusOne walked home today, by himself, for the first time. (Yes, mom was a wreck.)

3) PlusOne discovered the school cafeteria had sherbet. PlusOne loves sherbet. PlusOne now loves school.

4) Angus wanted to see pug bellehs. Here is Lucky giving my belleh a bath. I have no idea why.

5) Dad has been really busy at work. Dad was in bed at 9:00 pm. (He gets up at 4:30 am)

6) Mom was in bed at 9:40 pm Tuesday night. She read until 10:15 pm.

7) Mom did not get into bed until after 10:30 pm last night.

8) PlusOne starts school at 7:40 am.

9) Mom drops him off at 7:30 am.

10) When PlusOne gets home from school, he takes us outside then calls mom at work. Then he goes to the neighbor's house for Mrs. Neighbor to watch over him until mom gets home from work.

11) Mom didn't read any blogs last night. Mom is sorry about that.

12) PlusOne has to take his cello to school every day, now. And walk home with it. It is almost as big as he is.

13) Mrs. Neighbor says PlusOne is a role model for her son, so she likes having him over. If PlusOne does his homework there, then her son will not complain and do his homework with PlusOne.

Wordless Wednesday

More Of The Same, And Laundry!

Today was another relaxing day. For us. Not for mom. She was doing more banging and ripping on the back porch. Since it was so nice, this is what Lucky & I did.

We did some of this.

And some of this.

Then, I did this. I can't very well lie about it, since mom has me on video. But I do stop as soon as I realize she has the camera.

I love laundry. I really do.

Clean Up Day

PlusOne was helping Dad outside. He manned the weed whacker.


Dad mowed the lawn. Mom edged the driveway and part of the sidewalk. She also helped PlusOne pick up stuff in the back yard. And she pulled down more sheet rock and insulation and put up more sheet rock and insulation. She also replaced a brown outlet with a white one. I won't tell you about the trip to Home Depot where she dropped the light bulbs right in front of the employee. They broke. Typical mom!

She also tackled her desk. Mom has an interesting way of cleaning her desk. Since she can't manage to get anything into the waste basket, if she misses, she leaves it there. Then she sits on the floor and decides what has to be shredded and what doesn't. Here is her before mess.

Lucky and I did more of this today. Now I ask you, which of us is smarter?
